My hunch is that it's timed exclusive. The publisher and developers are not Sony owned.

Why did we all baulk at the price reveal? I did too, 35 quid for Tetris does feel like a lot, but why is that the reaction? It can't be because it's the same experience; games like FIFA or Madden provide yearly releases with incremental updates at full price, and all get bought. Is it that puzzle games offer a smaller scope that we're not comfortable in paying larger sums for? Perhaps, but thinking about the sheer number of hours I've put into Tetris games over the years, I couldn't argue that they haven't been value for money.

I don't know, just something to ruminate on I suppose.

Self edit.

I paid full price and I'm really enjoying it.

The end.

What is it with stupidly priced Tetris games this gen?

Puyopuyo Tetris is strawberry floating ace. It is shockingly priced on Switch though. It's like £12 on Steam.

Gah! I'm really wanting this, but I've got a feeling it will have a big price cut soon, and will be announced on Switch too. I can't justify £35.

So, having spent a couple of hours with this last night I'm happy to say this is possibly my favourite Tetris game yet.

I would also say its arguably the game Mizuguchi was born to make. Rez and Lumines are great, but this is a whole different level and the way the light and sound come together to match the gameplay is astonishing.

VR is the best way to play this as well. It utterly absorbs you into the game in a way that the 2d version can't hope to.

This sort of blew me away (the reactive sound, not how good the guy is. Though, he is):

I wish I could allow myself to buy this, but I just...can't. Hopefully it'll get a price dip around Christmas.

I heard it'll be the first game ever to get a price increase at Christmas.

I liked the demo. It's Lumines with, let's face it, the much better game behind the cool adaptive music. I'm sure there'll be a price drop that I'd wait for anyway, but I agree with Call and Answer; we've kind conditioned ourselves out of supporting puzzle games the same way we do other genres because they're expected to be cheaper.
