Nothing for me this week or next week. Although a new PlayStation Store Sale will launch on Wednesday ( :dread: ) and my head is being turned by Nascar Heat 2 that launched last week ( :dread: )...

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and Project CARS 2 both on PS4 for me. Might be tempted by SteamWorld Dig 2 on Switch depending on reviews.

I've pre-ordered the boxed versions of Pokémon Gold and Silver for nostalgia reasons but I won't play them for a while as I'm still working through Mario + Rabbids. I'm still excited! :toot:

Just Pokemon Gold for me.
Besides a box, is there anything with the boxed version? I can't imagine for £9.99 it has any physical goodies in the box.

Nothing for me this year until Mario Odyssey now, might pick up Wolfenstein II when it's cheap though.

I think the UK / Euro version of the boxes are advertised as just containing a download code... but the Japanese versions also have magnets shaped like the original Game Boy Color cartridges, stickers and a poster featuring the Gold and Silver generation’s Pokémon.

Perhaps our version may contain a poster... I can't really imagine it just being a box with a code in it.

Looking on a few stores I can't see any mention of the box containing anything besides a download code. If it contained a poster or something I'd have expected it to be mentioned somewhere. Even the boxart doesn't mention anything either, just a download code.
Think I'll just grab it from the eShop rather than ordering from a retailer and having to wait for it to turn up in the post.

I'd never have thought you were a racing fan, especially Nascar of all things, certainly compared to other stuff coming out soon/recently; Dirt 4, PCARS 2 etc.

Pokkén for me!

Neat to hear of Super Hydorah as well, played the freeware 'Hydorah' some years back and it was an ace little Gradius esque shmup.

I do like racing games, but only arcade-style ones such as Need for Speed, The Crew and Split/Second. I wouldn't play sim-style racers like Gran Turismo or Project Cars. It's weird as I barely know anything about Nascar as a motor sport but I like the look of the game; I have watched quite a few videos this week (of both the game and Nascar itself) and it does appeal to me. I haven't dipped in yet but I may do so.

From this video it looks very far and away from the arcade games you mentioned there:

I'm not trying to be a buzzkill, but does driving round and round in a circle, being careful about tyre wear, fuel etc. for hundreds of laps while trying to draft cars ahead and not crash sound like fun? I would probably recommend picking up an older and cheaper nascar game first to get a feel of whether it appeals, even though Heat 2 is supposed to be really good, to see if it really is something you want to drop £30+ on so soon after launch.

Haha - I watched that vid earlier this morning  . The game seems to be a mixture of arcade and sim; you can play around with setups but it doesn't look *too* complex. I have watched seven or eight of that guy's videos on the game and it has piqued my interest... I have been learning about race lines and slipstreaming :) . I was keen when Nascar Heat Evolution released last year but that game appeared to be very basic and suffer from a few key faults (twitchy controls and few game mode options) so I held off.

I would like to get Heat 2 but I've only recently splashed out on Destiny 2 and Lego Worlds. Will see how things go.

That sounds like you have plenty to be getting on with in the meantime; i would still recommend picking up a dirt-cheap nascar game from last gen to see if you actually like doing it yourself. I am a racing game nerd and found the nascar modes in gran turismo 5 and forza motorsport 6 more than enough for me, let alone a whole game of it.

Got an email from Amazon. My copy of PCars 2 has been delivered. That's the evening sorted.

Thought I might have had to wait until Sunday night as I'm away Friday and Saturday. Happy days.
