Castle Crashers might be the exception to that though as it has online co-op and RPG elements. Still, 1200 is too much.
I'm not talking about specific examples, I'm talking about the idea that a downloadable game can't be worth more than any specific amount purely because its downloadable.
I didn't say that. I said that an
Arcade title is not worth more than £10. I'd quite happily spend more on bigger games. I bought and downloaded Half-Life 2, that's worth more than £10. The game content and longevity are important, if it's a £10 game that's 'samey' from start to finish and only lasts 2 hours then it's not worth it. If it's a £10 game and it's varied and lasts a lot longer then yes, it is worth it.
I've never found an Arcade game that lasts (me) more than a few hours. The price point (for me) is not justifiable.
Its a laughable idea.
Not at all, it makes perfect sense.
Anyway Lumines Live already proved that theres room for the 1200 MS point price point and I've no doubt that there will be a game at some point that is right for the 1600MSP price tag.
Ah yes Lumines, the game where you have to purchase more tracks to get a 'full game'. The price, after DLC, is a lot higher so that is a rubbish example.
There might be a game at some point that might be worth 1600 points.
Might. At the moment there isn't.
If there wasn't sure a thing as XBLA then Lumines Live on 360 would have been at least £30, same for Castle Crashers, quite how you can argue these games aren't worth £10 (actually £8), is beyond me.
Lumines would have been a 'full game' if released as a disc, the current content would not justify a disc release.
I'm not arguing that they're not worth it for
everyone, I'm saying that, in
my opinion they're not worth it
for me.
