PostThe 'Games you need to play before you die' Thread

As the topic suggests I think we should make a list of the top 100 games every gamer should play before they die everyone add your suggestions and we'll see what we come up with in the end (Maybe we could get this sticky by a mod ;) )

I'll Start

SUPER METROID

This was the first game I can remember that ever truly sucked me into it's world, with great atmosphere, a tense feeling of isolation and great pacing it was an amazing experience from start to finish that I'll personally never forget. It also featured amazing graphics with detailed backgrounds and character sprites that all helped add to the overall experience one that I feel every gamer should try and with it being available on the Wii's virtual console it's not hard to get hold of.

Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat - because it's where Super Mario Galaxy came from. And it contains the best six seconds of any videogame ever made.

Most underrated game ever?

Or at least, most under-remebered (if that makes sense)

Wave Race 64. Experience something truly magical, conveyed through brilliant music and gameplay that totally eclipsed the competition -- and thoroughly underscored the capabilities of the Nintendo 64. Don't miss it. Please.

Also, maybe a list in the OP would be good? And we could vote things out and in to come up with an epic 100?

I'm not sure how many people ever got round to playing it but it certainly shows up Super Paper Mario for the festering turd that it is.

One of the best stories ever told in a video game and the best dialogue ever written. It must be played by all.

I would honestly consider Yoshi's Island to be a perfect game. It has incredibly appealing visuals, musically it's a dream with many excellent tunes and the gameplay is tight, polished and incredibly rewarding. A true masterpiece.
