Things get sold on Amaazon you know, it was £49.95 for one that was claimed as working now it's £57.03

No it's just got to be like for like.

At the moment to play Crysis 3 I'm at

£57.03 for a used 360
£129.99 for a new PS3

We seem to be at around £105 for a used PC
£150 for a new PC with No OS that may not match console versions.

Some dude, no details, zero feedback. Considering his company (£61.98 for an unboxed controller from a dude with 24 rating, £65.13 for no box and no controller from a dude with 266 ratings, next step up that looks relatively safe is £87), excuse me while I be sceptical.

I can't link to stuff on Amazon that has gone, so £57.03 it is at the moment.

 And then he goes on to claim it must be like for like. So you can buy a used 360 but the PC must be brand new. Also the burden of proof is on everyone else but rik, he can make claims and not post any links, but you have to buy all the gooseberry fool and show him the receipts to prove you can meet his claims. Jesus christ, he must be a pro at religion.

Where is this thread even going? Every time his ridiculous standards are met, he moves the goalpost so he can gloat.

OK, working off this video, I priced up a system based around the specs used, I think. This is tentative and not part checked, so I can't say for sure that the entire build I've priced is actually compatible, or whether this is the cheapest this could be built. But it does seem to provide smooth gameplay.

My current total without OS is 169.24

Motherboard. Quite possibly some savings to be made here

Haven't included an optical drive. I'm pretty sure that Windows 8 can be installed from USB stick these days.

You have trouble reading obviously.

I'll help you, like for like means either both used or both new.

I've provided links to both a new 360 and PS3 and a used 360, please try reading.

So you've continued changing goalposts and making new rules as we go along. Big whoop

On the flip side, I'd like to see a 450 quid console do some photoshop and spreadsheets :dread: Even the lowliest PC can do that.

I get about £250 for an A6 with Windows.

I'm sticking with that case from Scan, though. Hard to argue with the case and PSU for £20. Even if the PSU is of dubious quality, Part Picker estimates the power draw of the A6 built at less than half the stated wattage.

And to be honest, this is probably still a fair bit overspecced for the task at hand.

Part picker seems a bit rubbish, to be honest. Scan's A6 FM2 seems to be far better priced than anything on there. But Part Picker does have some very nice cheap bits, like the hard drive.
