I also note that despite his insistence that we show links to all parts, he's yet to link his £139 360 yet.

Ditto the PS4 version, especially after you've played something like GT5. For the version where you can actually do everything, the target is actual £190, so I'm going to declare Rik owned again.

The challenge was to play Crysis 3, nothing else.

The challenge was to play Crysis 3 on a computer for less than £139, and you've since moved the goalposts to a new computer with links to all parts, so it's only fair that I can move the goalposts an equivalent amount.

You can go used but then the budget drops to £49.95 as per the opening post.

I havent moved anything, I said in the other thread build a PC for £139 which was the price of a new 360 on Amazon delivered, that was new. Somebody then used an existing PC for free and added £119 worth of parts to it. Thats not really the same thing as buying a new console, a used 360 working is £49.95 delivered.

Not that I think Falsey would do this, I mean, i'd like to hope he would, but I don't think he actually would.

It's actually gone down since the other thread, it was £139 from Amazon delivered.

EDIT: It's actually £136.41 from Amazon themselves new.

Fine, have it your way. Will run Crysis better than whatever RRoD'd used 360 you can find for similar money.

I'd like to see exactly what happened in the PCGT to apparently trigger this, as all it looks like to me is Rik challenging the forum to spend his money, and PC fans declaring him 'bumpain'.

Rik rolled into the PCGT thread, declared that you can't find a PC that can run Crysis 3 for less than an Xbox 360 (i.e. £139). Berlappin rolled in, showed off his £120 build, and Rik moved the goalposts, demanding NEW parts and LINKS to everything. Posts have since been deleted since it was blatant and brazen trolling and console warring, which I'm sure is against the rules of this forum (and certainly against the rules of this thread).

4p over budget, will it run Crysis 3 at 720p and 30fps though?

Also lacks control method and TV cable, but the best so far!

Crysis 3 doesn't even run at 720p on console

Mafro "cleaned up the thread of his own accord".

He also said that he'd ban anyone who tried to restart the argument that derailed the thread. And yet here we are.

(clearly "gotten to")

I have provided a link to a NEW Xbox 360 for £136.41 from Amazon for a console that can run Crysis 3, or for £129.99 a PS3 that can do the same out of the box.

If we're making a like for like comparison then it's only fair that the PC we build does the same. I could get a RRod 360 for like £10 off Ebay and fix the xclamps to get it working but that doesn't prove anything.

I don't get these kind of "arguements". It's clear that one option is far superior in both value for money and power, there's not any real debate about it as there is only one right answer. And not only that, no one really cares, do they? Despite it being my main platform for most of the generation, there's no doubt that the 360 is my least favourite of the current gen consoles. It doesn't mean i'll go out of my way to try and make people think the same as me that it's not as good as the Wii or PS3. I know no one cares.

EDIT: I'm not sure what my point is there. I think it's a "Why can't we all just get along" post. I'm not too sure.

It was stated that the PC could "outperform" the console version for £119, it would be the case at 720p and a solid 30fps.

I got £277 which is still cheaper than a 360 at launch, although it doesn't have a HDMI port a lot of HDTV's have VGA ports so you could still use it.

Not what we're doing but a Core 360 was £219 at launch.

To get an xbox with the bits I needed to play it about 6 months after launch cost me £279.99, and I had to use component.
