Better than the PC versions 'always online' requirement though... :dread:

I had problems getting my legit copy to work due to Uplay being gooseberry fool so played through a pirate version problem free :slol:

Going through my yearly play through of the original Quake (with some mods). probably my all time favorite game. EVER! Cant believe it's been 18 years since it was released. I remember picking up the shareware disk before it's release like yesterday.

I've never actually played Quake (I only had Doom when I was young) but those screen shots look damn good. That's the best thing about PC though. The mod support from the communities.

Quake is such a classic tho. First PC game I ever owned

Using the Steam version of Quake, I use the Dark Places engine to run Quake alongside this mod -

I also use the files from here -
http://steamcommunity.com/app/2310/disc ... 497559791/
to play the original Nine Inch Nails ambient music.

Only played about 20 minutes but it doesn't play anywhere near as good as it looks. Like a QTE that you can't fail. For as good as it looks you're really brought out by the huge HUD (might be able to turn it off) and the prompts for executions. It colours the whole person the colour of the button you need to press which looks pish.

Is downsampling as simple as choosing a higher in-game res than what your monitor supports?

With a bit of downsampling FF13 doesn't look that bad for a 360 port.

[iup=3587861]Brerlappin[/iup] wrote:Yeah with the 9 series and DSR, its as easy as just choosing a resolution in-game. Its stil lthat easy with older cards, but you gotta setup custom resolutions first, and I had issues with that on my 770. It didn't like anything higher than 1920x1200, so I used GeDoSaTo to downsample from higher resolutions, but that tool only supports DX9 games so its not ideal.

If you haven't already tried downsampling its more than worth it. It cleans up the image so well, especially with older games that might have poor implementations of AA, or openGL games like Doom 3 that don't support stuff like SGSSAA

I have the 2GB 7870, so should it be easy enough with that?
