Silly question, but where can you get pCars from? Looked on the likes of Amazon but couldn't find it.

I've uploaded both the standard RA2 and the Yuri's Revenge expansion pack patches to PCS.

Just tried Red Alert 2 again and works fine as it is, I was testing on the 'Consumer Preview' before, works fine without compatibility mode on Windows 8.

Cheers for the link, will try Yuri's Revenge later :)

Also nick, on the ra2 main menu type "hires" and you should hear a beep. Then go to the options and higher resolutions will be available.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Cheers Winckle

Hopefully we'll be getting some touchscreen mods for tablets, can't imagine Red Alert working too well without a mouse when it comes to scrolling.

Surprised that pretty much all of my old 90s games work on Windows 8 without any need for compatibility mode.

Pretty hard tbh. I'm only using a pad, but on intermediate handling, I spin out if I lose concentration for a second. And the AI is insanely aggressive too, most crashes are caused by AI ramming me

Ah. Im not alone then

Im not sure if you've checked the gameplay menu, but there is a whole lot of AI customisation available. Ive left it default for now as I like it hard, seem to be finishing mid table a lot of the time.

The latest available - I get mine every first Friday of the month as a 'Junior' member. I'm finding that if I play on 'intermediate' and set the AI to relatively low levels in the menus I get a pretty good experience. The cars can still be bit jittery (BAC Mono, I'm looking squarely at you) but there is a nice balance of skill and control vs some assists to get a decent feel to the races and a fair challenge. The problem with the 'novice' setting is that it kills the game completely in terms of racing; you lose control of your braking points and quickly get left at the back of the field.

Car models look absolutely fantastic. Still much work to do on many of the tracks, though. I use a 360 controller, btw. Seems fine.

Is that the default install or are you using one of the modern engine updates?

Dem pixels

Gotta be the original engine. Quake 1 on Darkplaces looks better than that

Please tell me that line about the melon isn't actual dialogue from the game.
