Its stil lthat easy with older cards, but you gotta setup custom resolutions first, and I had issues with that on my 770. It didn't like anything higher than 1920x1200, so I used GeDoSaTo to downsample from higher resolutions, but that tool only supports DX9 games so its not ideal.

If you haven't already tried downsampling its more than worth it. It cleans up the image so well, especially with older games that might have poor implementations of AA, or openGL games like Doom 3 that don't support stuff like SGSSAA

I have the 2GB 7870, so should it be easy enough with that?

:dread:

Sorry man, downsampling is next to impossible on AMD cards, at least it was last time I heard. That might have changed now, but I wouldn't have a clue about how to do it on AMD

Not to worry. I'll stick with 1080p30/60 as-is for now. Not overly fussed if I can't do downsampling yet.

It's so strange graphically. Some things on the screen look fantastic and some look like the PS2 era but they're mixed on the screen at the same time. Also the borders would have removed so much from the game. Mikami did his team a huge disservice. There are some great landscape shots to be had later on.

Those AC:U shots look amazing. I thought it looked good playing it on PS4, but those shots are something else. The resolution and clarity of the picture is pretty awesome.

How much did the PC cost for that?

Probably around 800 eur all told. Expensive outlay sure, but, to buy ACU on my PS4 would've been 70eur or so, but cost me 10 quid on ebay for a code. So eventually it pays off.
Also being able to play with that kind of image quality is worth it for me.

8-)

Looks incredible, really does. It is shots like that which make you envious of PCs. Gaming is a great hobby, I just don't have that kind of cash. I guess you get used to it, that becomes the norm too? With consoles, it gets better as they improve.

I think it's a case of ignorance is bliss here! :D

Some screens from Escape Dead Island (PC version):

It's a reasonably pleasant cel-shaded zombie bug-hunt set in the Dead Island universe. Fun so far!

I got my copy for just over £17 at http://www.fast2play.com/category/11536 ... steam-key/

Real shame that there is a load of noise on them. Should really just use fraps and capture png screens.

From Final Fantasy XIII (PC version) - all in-game (real-time game engine) shots, not pre-rendered cut-scenes:

It's a beautiful looking game on PC. Some slight frame rate issues but a recent patch seems to have ironed out most annoyances. Works great with the 360 controller on PC, too.

It's missing a few things but considering it's Japan it is a really good port. Hope they get Phantom Pain out at the same time as consoles. Should be easy now right? right?

Fair enough.

Do you actually play much of the game?
