With me finishing Red Dead Redemption and now cracking on with undead nightmare I am wondering if anyone there's some suggestions for a game we can all play together and chat about?

Cities Skylines for something a bit different?

I don't think City Skylines would be a good game for everyone to play along and discuss. Most of us plebs will probably blow up the city in 5 minutes. I think a more story-based game would be better, personally. Not up to me though.

Sniper Elite 4, Cross Code and Ace Combat 7 seems to be 3 decent picks so far.

To further make the case for CrossCode, its top down retro aesthetic is lovely and should have universal appeal in the age group on this forum, it plays incredibly responsively and generally just feels great. The story is neat, and the characters are all generally fun and interesting to interact with.

It’s also like 40 hours long, so keeping pace with one another should be easy.

And yes, it’s on GamePass

Gears of War 2 and 3

I quite wanted to go along with this. So I downloaded Crosscode, and gave it a sneaky play, so I could keep up in the background and see where the fun was at.

I was immediately stuck in the tutorial when I needed to aim until I saw a red line to throw a charged ball. Then I have to hit enemies with a red circle, which button does not exist on the Xbox. There were no enemies anyway. I'm bewildered.

I can see a red line. I have no idea how to throw a 'charged ball' and no matter where I try to shoot it makes no difference. It just makes a honk noise everywhere I shoot. So, I am deleting CrossCode because I don't even know what it's talking about.

It's probably for the best all round. It not you, it's me, CrossCode.

Edit, I have a feeling that as a lapsed gamer, I'll be the one in any war film who has to say that everyone is better off carrying on without them.
