I'll throw my hat in.

Budget of £400

Delusibeta's Rule Set
1) Purchases before 1st January 2011 aren't included (for obvious reasons).
2) Hardware that's explicitly for gaming (e.g. Vita, 3DS) is included, hardware that isn't (e.g. hard drives, iPods) is excluded.
3) Any games put in the Steam inventory will be included at cost (so if I pay £5 for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and manage to trade up to Skyrim, I'd still only put down that I paid £5 for S.T.A.L.K.E.R).
4) Gifts are free (well, duh).
5) Subscriptions are included (but then again my Xbox Gold currently expires February 2013, so no really panic there).

I'll also be trying to beat more games than I buy this year. I'll probably fail miserably, however: I do love a good pay what you want indie bundle.

Templates:

Yep, count me in please. I think £800 will give me breathing space this year as I plan to rent most games with the big spending being on new hardware.

Code: Select all

Peter C = £800 (Spent £0) Balance = £800

I'll be in it to win it this year

Code: Select all

Dante = £1200 (Spent £0) Balance = £2000

I'm cutting down on hours at work starting in Jan, so won't be earning anywhere near the past few years so plan on focusing on unplayed and half played games

I will be including rentals and any game subscriptions as well

Harman = £200 (Spent £0) Balance = £200

Being a student, I can't really afford a lot of games anymore. The majority of big titles will most probably be traded in later on to save money on other releases.

Should hopefully be enough to cover my years purchases.

In the last month I've met quite a few other thrifty people using coupons. One woman I've seen on 2 different occasions and spoke to her once. Very nice person.
This morning at Wags the woman in front of me had coupons and was getting the tape but she got the wrong tape so the register wouldn't scan the coupon. I helped by showing which tape was the right one (I had some in my cart too) so she ran back and got it. She was very apologetic for holding up the line. I told her I was in no hurry.
Then as I pull out my coupons the sweet little lady behind me says, "you shop like I do- buy it when it's on sale and buy lots! Those coupons help too." I noticed she had a handful of coupons also. She gave quite a bit of advice to me & I thanked her.

I feel very fortunate to live in an area where the other couponers are courteous, friendly and helpful.

Now I have a young child (4 months old) I really must try harder next year.

I may still buy a Vita if I can be bothered working some overtime, but I'm not including it in my budget. I'm going to set myself £350 purely for software and also try and limit myself to a maximum of £30 per game.

Will do. I'll ask via PM on 31st as that'll be when I'll add everyone who's interested to take part on the list :)

Didn't do this last year but I'll take part this time. Can't see myself spending too much as I already have too many games to play, but there's a good chance I'll buy hardware in 2012 so it could be an expensive year anyway.

I'm not sure on budget but I aim to buy a max of two games full price this year and get everything else rented or later when dirt cheap (like Infamous 2 for a fiver today.. it just takes some patience). Going to be a tough year so have to be sensible.

Also commited to never being mug enough to spend launch prices again (will i keep to it though? :lol: ). No consoles this year.
