The only way it makes sense is if you assume Labour will get someone equally incompetent in to replace Corbyn because their voting system thanks to Ed Miliband allows the nutty people to win.

In defence of Ed, the changes were supported across the centre and right of the party because it reduced the power of union voters and increased the power of ordinary party members. This was assumed to benefit the less left wing candidates in a future contest. A round of applause for the Labour party intelligentsia please.

It's due to the population shifts that naturally happen over time...

Sure, but as you well know there are several easily-addressable flaws (I guess not 'flaws' if you're a Tory!) with the proposed boundaries that they refuse to fix in their proposal. Reducing the number of MPs is unnecessary and only being done because it advantages the Tories, and the same applies for basing it on the anomalous 2016 voting register. The historical pro-Labour bias in boundaries is also less relevant with an SNP-controlled Scotland. After the boundary redraw, the bias will swing further in magnitude to the Tories than it has ever been for Labour. You know this, and if you really cared about democracy you wouldn't support it.

I'm personally in favour of proportional representation, the only system that ensures every vote is meaningful.

When did Labour last have a majority that only worked by including their Scottish MPs? You'd have to go back many decades?

I would prefer a reduction in House of Lords before a reduction in the Commons but I think both could be smaller.

I thought the £3 comment was a joke but to be clear, I didn't pay £3 to vote Corbyn. I was mocking the ridiculous system they have in place.

Hopefully, this will mean that the Lib Dems can take a bunch of seats in pro EU areas. Having a large base will help make larger gains in 2022, especially if Brexit goes badly.

People will turn on the Tories if the economy turns bad and their are no jobs about. I mean even though it would be true, the Tories can hardly blame the Brexit vote for any economic failure that happens.

I can see Lib Dems making some gains by being the only mainstream Remain party left.
