The only two non-Tory choices in my seat are SDLP and Alliance, which is essentially a Labour vs. Lib Dem vote.

Typically, I'd vote SDLP in this instance, but the Alliance candidate is a mate of mine, so I'm kind of torn.

Oh, yeah. Vote. But vote without hope. I know too many absolute whoppers who are voting for the Tories despite not liking their policies because apparently "at least they're honest". strawberry floating idiots. This attitude is what is going to win them the election.

I'm voting Alliance but they have no chance in this DUP stronghold:

It shows how crazy the election has been if it counts as quiet when the day before the election the newspapers accuse one of the top contenders of being a jihadi and the shadow home secretary is replaced.

Yeah suppose. Just feels no one is "swinging" anymore (ooooo.gif) and everyone made up their minds days/weeks ago.

Doesn't feel like a nail biting finish.

Campaign wise it’s pretty much dead, but there might be some excitement tomorrow night when the results come in. Poll wise it could be anywhere from a narrow Labour win to a massive Tory majority. I have never known such wildly differing polls before, absolutely crazy stuff.

I've not been paying much attention recently - but the Guardian has 15 "last day" recent polls

They range from Hung Parliament to Tory +122

I just tell people to vote for whoever you want, just vote, and point out the non-voters are the largest majority.

I think that if non-voters actually voted the country would sway towards the left overall. So just by encouraging people to vote, I'm doing my bit to help.

My brother in Japan for example assigned me as his proxy this year and is pretty apathetic. I mean he doesn't even live here. It probably had something to do with my mum's hip operation being cancelled at least 5 times consecutively.

Yeah, SDLP have taken the Foyle seat for longer than I've been alive, so it's ultimately pretty meaningless. The big worry is that Sinn Fein's surge in the assembly election last year translates to this. Progressive politics in the assembly is great, but purposely leaving your constituents voiceless in what could be the most important parliament for Northern Ireland in decades? That boils my strawberry floating blood.

I get the feeling that the pollsters are scratching their heads saying 'i don't get it, every time we ask different people we get different opinions, what is this madness?'

I don't think it helps that after brexit a lot of the polling organisations have played around the how they do polls, adding weight to certain categories etc..

It's been really interesting and encouraging to be on public transport today and hear so many school children talking about the election tomorrow. Clearly engaged.

I'll tell you what though, some people may be in for a monumental shock if they automatically think 'Londoners, young, must be lefties of the future...'. All I heard was Pro Conservative/UKIP sentiment all day. General family life and the leanings of our press must cut through.

The actual answers they're getting aren't that as wide ranging as the headline figures they publish. They use the tighter figures they have then model it based on scenarios replicating previous elections.

After the recent performance of the polls, they are probably deliberately posting different results so that they can claim at least one of them was correct and that they therefore know what they are doing. ;)

The median seat prediction today was Lord Ashcroft's, predicting a Tory majority of 64.

I love pre-election Hyperbole.

My mum is insisting that if Labour win then Sky will pull out of the UK and move to America, a guy at work is insisting he'll begin the process to emigrate to Australia on Friday, my dad insisting that everyone in Europe, especially the French, are praying for a Corbyn victory because it means he'll be a soft touch in the Brexit negotiations.

I don't want Labour to win, I'm voting Lib Dem, but come on  :fp:

Doesn't surprise me. When I was a kid I used to buy into what the press said, that we need to go to war with Iraq, that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, that the Liverpool fans caused Hillsborough etc. When those kids grow up a bit they'll probably start to actually look past that and learn more about things instead of taking their views from second and third hand sources.
