Grumpy David wrote:When did Labour last have a majority that only worked by including their Scottish MPs? You'd have to go back many decades? I would prefer a reduction in House of Lords before a reduction in the Commons but I think both could be smaller.

I thought the £3 comment was a joke but to be clear, I didn't pay £3 to vote Corbyn. I was mocking the ridiculous system they have in place.

Scotland is still relevant to that bias in terms of votes-needed-per-seat, which IMO is a meaningful metric upon which this should be measured -- the Tories needed fewer votes per seat at the last election than Labour, IIRC (Am I right? Please do fact-check me on that), whereas historically it has been the opposite. On the other point, I would prefer to have as large a Commons as possible as that makes individual votes as meaningful as possible.

Sorry, I didn't read it as a joke. This is my bad and I apologise to you. Although I'm certain they had no actual impact on the result, I heard there were Tories that paid to vote to Corbyn, and I think this says very bad things about their moral character as individuals. (I would feel the same about anyone who subverted a democratic process like that.)

What's he going to do? Murder Corbyn.

Don't be silly. He wouldn't do it himself. He would have Corbyn found in the woods with slit wrists and overdosing on various medications.

Not sure how I will vote this time round, at the moment it is looking like Lib Dem as they are the only ones saying anything other than going along with mays brexit bullshit.

The Conservatives are 1/10 to get the most seats.
That seems very generous if the polls are even remotely accurate.

Lots of people are assuming that when Corbyn gets utterly obliterated at this election, he will stand down. Obviously he will get obliterated because he is an abysmal politician and the greater exposure of an election campaign in hardly going to help that. But he'll probably stay on as leader. :fp: It'll be him and McDonnell having to fill in most of the shadow cabinet jobs because they won't have enough MPs willing to serve with him.

I strawberry floating hate Theresa May. She's such a lying, selfish banana split. Is there any cause for hope at all anymore?

One thing I really hate at the moment is May's 'our nation is coming together' rhetoric but if they gain a larger majority, she'll be able to legitimately peddle that line even though it is patently untrue and, if anything, the divisions are wider than ever. :x

The fact there is an election can provide hope, it is unlikly she will be removed, but there is a chance she will be or be lightened up by having to be in a coalition.

I'm so sick of the lies. She said over and over again she wouldn't do this but she's sensed blood and gone for it anyway.

I have voted Labour in every General Election since (92) I have been able to. I won't be voting for Corbyn.

I am in Anna Soubury's seat. It has been marginal in the past, but won't be this year. Although she is a prominent remainer I could not vote for the Tories. I will register my utterly pointless protest remain vote for Timmy Fallon's Yellow Army this time.
