Personally I don't think her manifesto is as radical as it could be given how pathetic her competition is.
She could probably afford to swing more to the right than she currently is and still win a landslide.
Wouldn't mind her poaching the legalise and tax weed policy that the Lib Dems have. Always seemed an unwinnable war to oppose something that relatively to alcohol and cigarettes is so harmless.

Agreed. I too wish the Conservatives would go further right. I would love nothing more than for them to alienate the centre ground and reduce their popularity.
.... and how is legalising weed right wing, anyway? It's supported by social liberals of all stripes.
satriales wrote:Hearing people talk politics for the first time at work today was quite disheartening. Nobody seemed to have actually read the manifestos they've just seen the headlines on the Daily Mail. I heard the word '1970s' several times, someone mentioned giving money to poor people as if was a bad thing, there was a conversation about the recent ransomware attack and that it would have been worse under Labour (even though they manage the Welsh NHS and weren't affected by the attack), and a manager went on a huge rant about how evil Labour are for wanting to cap bosses pay if they want public contracts, as if that is the most serious issue we face as a country. No one in the office would be affected by it but for some reason everyone seemed to agree with him.
I'm in Surrey so Tories are guaranteed to win here anyway, but if the number of illogical or misinformed arguments I heard today is any indication then the country is going to let the Tories do as they have promised.
Yeah, the tabloids have managed to brain wash people even here in NI and the Cons aren't even really competing here. I had a colleague who said he hoped Corbyn didn't win because he was an 'IRA sympathiser'. This same guy is a strong supporter of the peace process, which only came about when the government started talking to those linked to the IRA! I am not a fan of Corbyn's leadership but he does have an uncanny knack of being on the right side of history. Interestingly the guy agreed when I pointed this out. It seems they just need to hear from someone outside the echo chamber.

There is no way May would ever legalise weed.

This. She's more likely to make it class A than she is to legalise it.

Agreed. May is the worst leader for legalisation of weed. She rewrote a drug report to make drugs seem worse.

Agreed. Karl wrote a post about her being a massive authoritarian some time before she became PM and he's been proven right thus far. No way would she ever legalise weed.

I dunno. She seems to be on some pretty hard stuff so might fancy making it easier for her to get.

Eating the souls of small children is not the same as weed.

According to Tory rhetoric on drug use, weed is much worse.

You misunderstand May. If she legalises child soul eating then everyone will do it, causing a shortage of souls for her to consume. Think she looks like a corpse now? Imagine what would happen without her daily child soul intake.

One day I think I should compile the GRcade "Theresa May is an eldritch horror" canon into some kind of 'fan'fiction.

Labour are being successfully repositioned as a protest party in the eyes of voters like this one.

That video is a good argument for ending democracy.
