I worry that he might try somewhere up North. I can imagine Sunderland being collectively thick enough to vote him in. (And that's not an insult to any individuals there - my wife's a Mackem and I'm sure she'd agree).

Other than Carswell (and he was basically just a Tory) in the south, nobody has ever voted for a UKIP MP. I am not sure that anywhere will vote in a UKIP MP this time, what is the point when the Tories will give you exactly what you want?

19% is pretty high, but lower than the Tories and a strawberry float load less than Labour.

After 7 failures to get elected, I can't imagine Farage will look at standing somewhere where Labour regularly get 50% of the entire vote.

MPs are always scared of voting against an election as it can be used against them. Rivals will say that they were trying to block democracy or they are running scared of losing their seat etc..

There's only so much failure one man can withstand I suppose. What what this be, number eight? Leave voters were happy to elect him as MEP purely because as an anti-European his sole job in the EU parliament was to be as offensive and useless as possible; which he excels at.
