I'm registered for postal voting, so can't I complete and send off right away?

Nah you have to post it on the day. Royal Mail will get it there same day for you - it's why counting goes so long into the night. Everything has to be delivered.

This. Sending it in early would count as election fraud. You can be fined quite heavily for trying to break the system like that.

I've found that postal voting can be quite unreliable - because of the much higher volume of post with everyone voting, a substantial percentage of the votes get lost in the system and so don't get counted because they arrive too late. It's like Christmas post but without the extra staff from the Royal Mail.

What you want to do is photocopy your postal vote and send it at least three or four times from different post boxes. That way you guarantee at least one of them will arrive on time.

You only post on the day if you vote for The Conservatives, otherwise you can post whenever.

That genuinely is a prosecutable office, no matter when you post it.
