NSMB was released in May 2006. It has been almost three years since that game came out, so a sequel being shown off isn't wholly unlikely.

I seriously doubt MKDD sold nearly seven million copies, that is one in three of all gamecube owners. I would like to see the NPD figures that confirm what it sold in the States as the Gamecube bombed in Japan.
