Thanks MHTL! So it's okay to eBay the disc then as long as I leave it installed on the HDD? Or do I need to occasionally boot up the game?

Yeah you can get rid. I had one exactly the same on Valiant Hearts the other day. It was at 100% for ages, then popped at 6 in the morning, the Xbox wasn't even on.

Cheers! :D

Finally hit 240,000. Only took me year or so after sitting on 230,000 :slol:.
Also Refunct is nice, cheap and fairly easy to get achievements on. Still not got one where I need to beat it with 33% or less (which I'll attempt once I'm not sleepy)

Yeah I quite enjoyed that one, picked it up last time it was on sale, it was short but sweet.

Finished the 12 Days. Pretty easy in the end, but fun.

Just a heads up dude, the full set of DLC is in the Christmas sale for £4.80. :)

The Donkey Kong arcade high score record has been broken again! Robbie Lakeman scored 1,230,100.

The guy has amazing skill and knowledge of the game - well worth a look.

So last night the penny finally dropped; I played Pac-Man 256 so much that I *finally* managed to see the tactic required to easily rack up big scores.

twitter.com/SoKfa_ce/status/944332249931157506

It was so successful that I almost doubled my previous high score!

All you do is go from one power pill/power up to the next. But! If your current one is about to end you don't consume the next whilst still in power up mode. Nope. Instead you hang around and wait for it to come to an end and then consume the next one. That way you are spending more time in attack mode as opposed to reg Pac mode.

How did you get a previous high score that good without realising that?

I... don't know  :fp: I may have done it sans the essential hang-around-next-power-up-whilst-letting-current-one-deplete part. Funny thing is getting that 15767 felt *so* *good*, more so than even getting the 30k, due to having earned it with the er, epiphany.

edit: oh! I remember the tactic I used for previous high score! Yeah, so that one was actually earned with another epiphany, a lesser one , which was namely to put the fruits ahead of power-ups. And I also recall that for that high score I lucked out and got maybe 3 or 4 melons on the bounce! /lucky

I deleted it off my hard drive after I got all the achievements, but you've persuaded me to download it to my phone now.

Will be back shortly with world beating scores (after I've unlocked the good power-ups again)

:toot:

It's a brilliant wee game even when not going for the high score. It's my current go to game after I'm done playing a long session of a bigger game, or to kill a few minutes with.

My fave power-ups: reg laser, bendy laser, cherry (maxed out it's OP as floop), green laser, and the lightning zapper thing. :( I was so disappointed when I realised there were no new ones to unlock.

The Xbox One Guide is getting a new Next Achievements feature with the latest system update, too. This is basically a handy list of achievements that are you are close to finishing on games, and you can filter the list by closest, most common, rarest, most common rare, and highest gamerscore to get the best possible look at your progress on a game.
