When I'm not back in scene at the moment I'm working on trying to get 100% on Yakuza 5, since I've always wanted to 100% Yakuza game. I did work on it for Yakuza 4 and also was planning to go back to 3&4 to 100% them but unfortunately I lost my saves for them when my older PS3 threw hissy fit -- this was before I used ps+ so they're not on cloud saves...

Ahh well, I'll be waiting for remasters so I can attempt for these on Steam (and/or PS4 )

Had to bust out another NeoGeo game to catch up. Thankfully this meant I also qualified for this week's individual bonus, so I guess it was worth it.

Going well

6K :? wow :fp: That'd be hard work every week

If I can somehow scrape through the summer holidays I'll be in good shape, my daughter goes to school this year so I'll be child-free pretty much the whole week. It's a big if though.

Decided to pull out of GTASC. It's just going to end up ruining my holiday if I'm stressing about that all the time. I need to ease of achievements for a while.

Do you really need to withdraw completley?

Do you not have enough bonus's to pull a Manny and take a week off.

I posted this in the TA thread, but I'm happy to share with you guys too. Basically I think this is it for me and GTASC.

Hey guys, I just wanted to take a moment to let you know that I'll be bowing out of the competition at this stage.

For pretty much all of my life I've struggled with mental illness, particularly social anxiety and depression. I use gaming as escapism, and often consider Achievement hoarding as one of my few accomplishments in life. The idea that I can be considered among the best at a particular field has been a very tiny light and the end of a long dark tunnel.

However it has reached a stage now where I realise that this is becoming a detriment to my home life, in particular my time spent with my children. The constant need to gather achievements when I should be playing outside with my kids has been a recent source of serious self-disgust, and it's become clear that I need to get this sorted out. I don't intend on stopping my achievement hunting, but I think exiting this competition (and the need to reach a target every single week) is a good place to start.

Hope everyone will understand, and best of luck to those who remain.

Fair play to you.

I wish I'd of thought of not spending time with the kids I just walked round like Herman Munster on about 4 hours sleep close to cut off :slol:

well done MHTL! A summer break will help for sure!! About 9 years ago I found myself in a similar position and managed to change before it got too bad.

Thanks man. I had a lovely week away with the family, didn't think about achievements or Xbox even once. Not even phone games or anything. It was really refreshing.

Landed last night, woke up this morning and downloaded all ten NeoGeo games that were on sale. :fp:

Hi MTHL,

Sounds similar to why I did not do this competition for the past few years. Achievements and gaming is meant to be fun and having to get so many a week felt more like work. Glad you had a nice week away. I have a new baby so inversely am playing a lot more as there is not much else I can do at 2am.

Yeah it's not the achievement hunting that is the problem, it's the constant need to score points every week. I won't be bothering with GTASC for now, it's a shame as I enjoy the competition but I do need to take breaks every now and again. Looking forward to scoring without worrying whether I'm putting in too few/many points or worrying about ratios and challenges.

Going back to old games left unfinished, I just managed to grab the last few on Alien Hominid HD, 11 years after my last achievement. Feels good cleaning up old mess. :-)

Late i know, but that change is important, hoping things will improve. I do enjoy GTASC but when things get havoc it's not really fun to be in @_@

Glad you've not felt stress when on holiday with family - that is good.

Back in achievement hunting, with goal of trying get 30day streak but without stressing. If I don't feel like going on Xbox or just wanna play something without getting achievement pop that's fine

Thanks man, I've decided to drop the competition now and just rattle along at my own pace which is nice. It means I can go crazy if I have the time, but if I need a week off or whatever I can do that. Actually going pretty crazy at the moment, almost at 10,000G for the month so far. :-)

I did a 500 day streak once before I realised that I wasn't actually that bothered, so dropped that too.

Yeah I don't think I'll ever able to do 100 day streaks! 30 seems more manageable, at least without feeling like I have to get something just to get one achievement pop as I tend to play games where you may not get one to pop for ages which I'm more than ok with.

But yeah, playing at your own pace is nice feeling

Just having the Pass has made me get more achievements as I play everything a little bit and then concentrate at the end of the month on the games that are leaving. I actually struggle otherwise knowing what to play as I have so many games now!

I tend to use pass to dip in games and see which ones I want to keep/support. I really enjoyed DR3 so will be trying to get Gold Edition but Quantum Break when I so enjoy I couldn't really justify supporting it when it has no subtitles for radio/TV stuff you can collect in that.

Either way, at the value it's good lot. I know I'll be trying out Forza Horizon 4 when it's out on Game Pass, would be my first Horizon title so I can see if I like it or not ha

I find myself trying to frantically finish off the games that are about to be removed. Currently grinding out Tower Of Guns, which is alright I guess.

EDIT - Done. Just shy of five hours, so a nice quick completion. :-)
