It's worth pointing out that those guys have more than three times my Gamerscore. I'm quite normal by comparison. ;-)

Finally 100%'d The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ on PC. Along with getting all the trophies on the PS Vita version of Rebirth, that's me never playing it again.

...until a decent booster pack is released anyway.

I don't get as much gaming time any more and have been playing LEGO Force Awakens for weeks. It now finally pregnant with achievements about to pop. Also playing some fun hidden object games that I can rattle through and still get achievements.

I racked up a 300 on Wii Sports Resort ten-pin bowling last night. Second time, now :) .

I love when that happens, you play a game for ages and then a load of achievements just seem to throw themselves at you all at once. I'm about to finish off Mega Man 9 and that should drop 4 or 5 in one go. :)

:o

How? I was always really rubbish at Wii Bowling, it always seemed to be totally luck based (obviously it's not, but I could never get the technique down). Nice one!

I'm one week into July and the achievement leaderboard is saying I'm already past 5000G. Maybe I should slow down a bit.

I just checked the GR Trophies leaderboard for the first time in a good while and I'm back in second place... I suppose that's what I get for playing barely anything but retro games for the last 6 months.

Thanks, man! I've played two or three games a week for about six years now. During the past couple of months I've pretty regularly scored in the 240 to 279 range; you only need to miss just one strike out of the possible twelve to end up on 279. Different players have different styles, but I tend to bowl from the right-hand edge of the lane into the pocket between the first and third pins. Fortunately I've held my nerve twice now to hit the 300.

Only just though dude, a few quick completions will have you back top in no time. It's a little more competitive than the top of the Achievements leaderboard.... 8-)

I recently passed the 200,000 gamerscore milestone but didn't feel the same sense of ceremony as when I hit 100,000. The points do seem to be a lot easier to come by these days especially if you dwell in the indie game market like I do. A lot of points but my completion rate is shameful...

Yeah I know what you mean. It's difficult to compete with those guys with infinite funds, as they just pick up every single indie title as soon as it's released and rinse them for G's. Those Neo Geo titles take like an hour each, and there's hundreds of them. I can't justify the cash for something that's over that quickly. I suppose I'll pick them up in a sale one day.

'Grats on the 200K btw. :-)

It probably is easier as back in the day the Arcade titles were limited to 200 points (I think it was 200) but now all games get the full 1000.

I have been on Xbox Live since the start and still haven’t even broken 40,000.

Admittedly, I do buy a lot, even a couple of Neo Geo titles but i'm waiting for a sale before I snaffle the lot. I have over 500 games on my hard drives which are largely unplayed so time is my main obstacle to a bigger score. For some reason i'm playing some free-to-play dross titles on rotation while I have Forza Horizon 2 and Halo MCC pretty much untouched. I think I just hate games  .

It's definitely easier and not just for the five-fold score increase. There is a much bigger pool of games that can be rattled through in minutes on the Xbox One like these interactive story games. The fact that Avatar is still cited as the definition of 'cheesing it' for easy gs around a decade after it came out shows how infrequently these properly, effortlessly easy games appeared on 360. Part of me thinks that some of the very basic indie games are sustained by gamerscore hunters alone where an easier yield will result in a few thousand extra sales.

The fact that the indie games have gone up to 1000Gs means that I actually play more of them. It is always a little disappointing when you pick up an older backwards compat game and it is only 200Gs. I'm guessing I won't play any of the original Xbox games when they arrive as they won't have achievements.

Go for it. I think there was a Gamertag thread somewhere back in the day, not sure how up to date it is though. If you're an achievement hunter feel free to sign up to the TrueAchievements leaderboard, link in the OP. :)

"Fundamental" changes are afoot for Xbox Achievements:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017- ... hievements

I wonder what they're planning?

Personally, I hope they don't mess with the system too much. I like the Gamerscore system as it stands, especially when compared to trophies (I find the Platinums incredibly hard to attain and usually involve a grind - I've only been close to achieving 2 of them - if I don't get that Plat it kind of makes me feel I've not mastered the game even though I can achieve sub 5% Golds). I like the Diamond / rare achievements system, especially as you can share these to the community.

If there's a way of highlighting your global multiplayer ranking in your profile that would be cool, too, but I don't suppose that needs a Gamerscore. I don't Xbox should highlight percentage of Gamerscore attained per games played, either, as I tend to graze from game-to-game so my ratio would be crap.

Maybe they'll encourage a way of earning Gamerscore via online multiplayer competitions, e.g. compete / win in the community competition on this weekend and receive 100G, etc. I could see that working and would enable those that are multiplayer focussed to still push their Gamerscore up.

Who knows?
