Just clicked on that spoiler by mistake.

I'm not even bothered. I love Spidey but am really apathetic about seeing this.

Actually quite enjoyed the first one (and re-watched it on Netflix the other night) so hoping this one won't be too bad.

You watched The Amazing Spider-Man on Netflix? Which country is it on, because I can't find it on the UK or US one?

Just seen this. No way spectacular but not a 2/10 film like some suggest. I'd say a 6/10 (though I'm a massive spidey fan so that May have added a mark)

Start with the good
they got Spider-Man's sark and cockiness spot on. I felt the opening fight was great, he kicked ass but was joking around as he did it. Shame Peter Parker wasn't as good

Harry Osborne was good, he had an edge to him before his transformation and the tone was fine, had they not rushed goblin into final 15 minutes. Saved him for next film.

Special effects and fights were good, web slinging looked cool

Bad...
electro was a poor choice of villain who turned evil for no apparent reason. His inclusion was minimal as it was, pushed aside to focus on Gwen. Dub step soundtrack :dread: Peter Parker spent whole film being mopey. Side plots for no reason - aunt may?! The fact they had big opener about his parents and the payoff was not there, so they ran to avoid being killed but died anyway? Harry's transformation and Gwen's death felt rushed. Her death was painfully obvious from the speech at start and visions of her dad. Rhino suit was terrible - guns? Really? The whole film felt like prologue for sinister six, too much exposition not enough reward. I also don't like how oscorp are behind everything and everyone.

In fact maybe it is bad film, but it was still enjoyable and didn't drag. Spidey is great character

Yeah, after some snooping around, I found this out. I just decided to download it instead.

Was alright, I thought. Not amazing, but definitely not the shambles I'd been lead to believe it would be.

Its a 142 minute film, not a 90 minute film.

And The Dark Knight managed to fit Scarecrow, The Joker and Two Face into the film and still be great, obviously Scarecrow had already been in Batman Begins, but its not an impossible task to fit 3 bad guys into a film and make it work.

Scarecrow was in it for minutes at best and Two-Face was completely rushed.

Not a great example hugo.

Do Sony always feel the need to throw in loads of characters to their spidey films because the rights could revert back to marvel if not used? I don't know the ins and out of the deal but I know some marvel characters are individually named and others are included under an umbrella in their sony and fox deals. Just wondering if some of the spidey villains are individually named on the deal and that's why they like to throw in several villains in one film.

All of the villains are included in the Spider-Man rights.

I liked it. Wasn't as good as captain America WS but better than the first I thought. Be interesting to see who they get to play Jonah.

I don't agree that Two Face was rushed, especially when a large part of his character arc is as Harvey Dent. As a fully-fledged villain he didn't have much screentime, but a lot of his story takes place before then. He serves a larger purpose as being the biggest example of the Joker's mantra of reducing every day life to anarchy. It was the Joker's film, and Harvey/Two-Face obviously pays second fiddle to him, though I wouldn't say that is the same as rushed.

A question occurs to me about the plot actually,
[is]Where the strawberry float is Peter getting his webbing from now? He was using Oscorp Biocable from their genetically engineered spiders, but the film makes it clear that all the spiders got destroyed, so surely that means no more biocable?[/is]

Garfield says he’s signed for three films and that a 4th movie is “nothing to do with me.” Sure, I basically took that to mean he leaves the handling of negotiating for future movies to his team and not necessarily that he has nothing to do with the movie, but I found Webb’s comments in conjunction with Garfield’s more interesting.

The director tells the reporter:

We did think about this movie, from the very beginning, these movies as a series of movies, as a trilogy, to be totally frank.

Now, we know Sony is planning on spin-off movies set in the Spidey universe in the vein of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so could this mean the 4th film is really the first of one of those? Or could it be a brand new take on Spidey, a la Ben Affleck taking over Batman from Christian Bale?

YES :datass: :datass:

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 End Credits Stinger Appears To Reveal Sinister Six Lineup

CS say the Sinister Six revealed are:

Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Rhino, Vulture, Kraven the Hunter and Mysterio (or, perhaps, the Chameleon).

….and here are the images that led them to this conclusion. Are they right? And what does this mean for Venom? Or the setup for Black Cat?

So that's 4 villains (or "anti-heros"?) they have to set up in one film? :dread:

but then on the other hand....

Production On Sinister Six Could Start In January, Source Claims Line Up Is Not Fixed

Definitely looks more Chameleon to me. I thought Sinister Six were to be in ASM3, obviously not. Not sure it would work too well as a stand alone as the general public only probably know who half the line up are.
