It's a paraphrased quote from this amazing sketch:

While some monkey news was good(the main one I remember was the zookeeper who took the monkey home, and it stole his wife  ), I got more laughs from Karl's Diary, too.

Just DL'd the entire Podcast/xfm series. So will be listening to them on my drive to Somerset tonight.

I wish there was a version which has edited out Gervais's laugh.

It would be 50% less funny.

Gervais, Merchant and Pilkington do a phone-in interview to an Australian radio show. The sound quality isn't great and the hosts are a bit annoying but Karl brings the goods.

I prefer monkey news.

S1 I thought in general was a bit naff, S2 improved massively, not sure how it did it but it was much funnier. Looking forward to S3 and any new material. The two clips above are brilliant especially the latter where Karl just says "strawberry float off"

The ep they broadcast last night on C4... man, at times it sounded *particularly* harsh when they were ripping on Karl/his family.

Still listening to the XFM stuff. Karl's game shows  They're so bad! :fp:

Oh come on. They were taking the piss out of his family having a tic-tac warehouse for a home.

The chief problem of Karl's games is that he thinks up the name before the actual game.

For the second season of the cartoon they've chosen stronger material from all seasons of the podcasts rather than just the chronological second season of the podcast. And the animation was notably better.

Wrong. S1 was just as good as S2.

I watched it again and it didn't seem as bad as it did on the first viewing. I wonder if watching it late at night and half asleep had anything to do with how I judged it first time around :fp:

The latest Karl news from Ricky Gervais' blog:

Oh, he's also excited about being on The Simpson's. I won't give the joke away but they are featuring a little clip of The Ricky Gervais Show in a future episode. He said, "good that init?"

I really want them to animate the 'Inifite number of monkeys' bit from the XFM show.

First ep was a good start. I probably enjoyed Karl messing around with the microphones at the beginning more than the majority of the episode as I had listened to the Brian's Brain podcast more recently. There was much to enjoy with the animation and background details though, it was nice to see a poster for Schindler's List in Space during the movie pitch.

The introduction to the episode was a little contrite. I suppose it reestablishes the setting for the show though. idk. The latter half of the episode, with Karl's second film idea was utterly brilliant. Ricky and Steve in their element.

Bit disappointed it focused so much of its time on the one thing.
