I'm onto episode 3 of Yuri Kuma Arashi. WTF am I watching

The visual style is interesting, a lot like Madoka Magica, or Bakemonogatari but less jumpy than the latter. Overall it seems ok, at least so far.

I have come to the conclusion after watching Little Witch Academia that Studio Trigger just can't make anything bad.

Added Kill la Kill openings for no reason other than they're awesome.

You should also listen to their other songs. GARNiDELiA are an awesome band for instance.

Don't know if you're still looking as that post was a while ago, but I missed it & I basically only watch comedy, so I thought I'd chip in now...

Some of my favourites are Nichijou, which is hard to explain but it's basically very very surrealist; Non Non Biyori, a slow-paced and gentle comedy about growing up in the countryside; Lucky Star, a kind of satire of other comedy anime; Kiniro Mosaic, which has extremely cutesy comedy about an English girl who moves to Japan to live with her pen-pal; Sakamoto desu ga?, about a sixth-form boy who has the superpower of appearing effortlessly cool at all times, despite his classmates' attempts to embarrass him; I imagine you've seen One Punch Man, but if not it's about the malaise of a superhero who finds saving the world too easy; and I have a friend who lurks who will skewer me if I don't mention Yuru Yuri. New Game! and Himouto! Umaru-chan have great nerdy videogame-based humour. If you're fine with a show that's obviously aimed at kids, then Shirokuma Cafe is extremely cute.

Having seen some of your posts, I think you might like Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, a kind of borderline-ecchi with a lot of Lovecraft references, but it's a bit much for me personally. ;)

If you're okay with shorts then you might like Oshiete! Galko-chan, which markets itself as a parody of sex ed videos (it's really just an over-the-top slice-of-life though); there's also Bananya, a children's show about the cute & relaxing secret adventures of tiny cats who live in banana skins, which is great to watch an ep of before bed or whatever. A two-episode special that's worth mentioning for being the most over-the-top and weird comedy I've seen is Yuri Seijin Naoko-san.

It's not a pure comedy, in that it has some episodes that will make you feel sad, but Amaama to Inazuma is one of the best animes out there.

In the current season, I'm watching Demi-chan wa Kataritai, a really imaginative comedy about the everyday lives of supernatural entities (vampires, etc.); Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon, which is this season's KyoAni slice-of-life and my favourite show so far this season; and Gabriel Drop-Out, about an angel who is corrupted into becoming lazy and cynical after becoming addicted to MMORPGs.

Thanks Karl, I've seen some of those, like lucky star and Haiyore! Nyaruko-san but there are some I havn't seen yet. I will check Nichijou, I've heard some good things about it and seen a lot of gifs from the show which make it seem pretty good so I will give that a watch, cheers!

Edit: I've also started watching Dragon Ball Super with my wife but she insists on watching the inferior sub :dread:

WTF is wrong with Goku's voice? It's so high pitched he sounds like a 5 year old.

Grandma Goku has been an issue in Japanese Dragonball for a long time.

For comedy series, you could try something a little more old school like Azumanga Daioh.

I watched that one years ago, it was quite good.

Also if anyone is looking for a good comedy I would highly recommend Nourin.

So I've been watching Jojos and I just got to the very start of the Egypt Arc of Stardust Crusaders.

My god how have I not watched this before. It's strawberry floating fantastic! My and my step brother literally cheered when

(Character spoilers)
Abdul appears to save Polnareff!

We literally had no idea that was going to happen and we both looked at each other with complete joy haha.

My all-time favourite manga, and the anime is adaptation is fantastic.

It's surprising just how many emotions the series can make you experience. Even after many re-reads and watches it still makes me laugh of brings a single manly tear to the eye with some of the more tragic moments. Polnareff is such a loveable rascal.

Joseph is my favourite character so far. Him and Speedwagon. Both amazing characters <3

I have a feel you'll like Part IV's protagonist if you like those two.

I loved young Joseph with all his inventive shenanigans, but there's just something special about old-man Joseph and his over-the-top 'holy gooseberry fool' and 'oh my god' moments. He could have very easily overshadowed Jotaro in his own part at times.

Favourites from Part 1-3 are Joseph, Speedwagon, Dio/DIO, Stroheim and Polnareff.

You'll have to keep us updated with your progress, there are some amazing moments coming up. JoJo.

One of the best OPs of all time? Probably.

(I've also seen the full version ages ago)

I love the sheer number of little details and references in the JoJo openings and endings. There are a few analysis vids on YouTube which show the manga references but they're full of spoilers, but could be worth seeing when you've finished. The live performances are amazing too.

Part IV does away with the CG but we got 3 fabulous OPs and a couple of edits so it's all good.

I spent far too much time this last week power-watching Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan, hilarious 5-minute episodes and now I've had to start the manga. :slol:

Berserk and Hiatus x Hiatus are both amazing. However I'll be bearing retirement before either manga ends at this rate.

I can't work out if Oingo Boingo were useless or one of the best sets of enemies yet. Hilarious episode.
