Deathnote, is simply amazing. I, like you, was just totally addicted from start til finish, dedicating most nights to just watching it. The storyline was just so fresh and interesting. I just loved the music in it as well, and with the japanese voice acting just made it amazing. Not just one of my favourite anime, but one of my favourite shows ever.

I couldn't get into Cowboy Bebop either, just found it a bit boring unfortunately, shame as I was looking forward to it after the hype on GR.

I'm currently watching 'Welcome to the NHK' which is a 24 part series. It's.....odd...to tell you the truth but very entertaining at the same time...even if it is a bit well..cringeworthy at times.

I'm also reading the Deathnote manga at the moment, the first manga I have ever read as I enjoyed the anime so much.

The music in Death Note is a true highlight - I loved the opening song in the first 16 episodes and Kira/L's theme. That human strawberry floater song was terrible though. I got to binge through Death Note as I started watching it well after it had reached the mid 20's. Best way to watch a show like Death Note too. I did the same thing with One Piece last year, went through about 310 episodes in about a month! Good times.

It's good to see I'm not alone in the "Cowboy Bebop really isn't very good" camp. I just couldn't see what all the fuss was about, I kept hoping it would get better, but it never did.

Welcome to the NHK sounds quite interesting, I may well give it a go.

I read the last 3/4 chapters of Death Note because it has a different ending to the one in the anime but haven't read the whole thing.

See too start with I didn't like the human strawberry floater opening either. But it really grew on me after a while, and now I think it's a better opening than the first one, and I really liked the first one as well.

I too didn't watch it until it had completely finished, so I got to watch loads of it in one go. Was a fantastic couple of weeks.

Welcome to the NHK is pretty good. Just be prepared to feel a little bit awkward when watchign it sometimes.

Sadly enough, I actually got into watching Lucky Star the other day, despite the fact it's very childish, it's actually quite good. I need to finish watching the rest of them though.

I've also seen most of the .hack now. I prefered Legend of the Twighlight Bracelet more than any of the other ones. I loved the Art Style.

It's an amazing looking film graphically. The first 2 parts are really well done but it does fall a bit on the 3 part. If you can find a blu-ray version of it floating around, then it's well worth the hefty file size.

Darker than Black is probably next on my 'to watch list'.

I read the first 6 or 7 manga of Initial D, it's rather good. I've no intention of watching the anime but just thought I'ld throw it in there.

I've got the first 10 volumes and I really want to buy more of the series since I've been really enjoying it. I may watch the anime as well to see what it's like since plasticcoated rather likes it (has he registered here yet?).

The only other manga I ever read (aside from LH) was Ragnarok, I liked that a lot but it was still being made when I started reading and my interest in manga/anime in general faded before I ever finished it.

I read that as hefty fine :D! I don't think it will run too smoothly on my computer, unfortunately. Might have to settle for the DVD version on payday.

New Fullmetal Alchemist TV Anime Series Confirmed

The wraparound jacket band on the 20th volume of Hiromu Arakawa's Fullmetal Alchemist manga will confirm on Friday that a new television anime series is in the works. A new anime series was a topic of much fan discussion for several months, but it was thrust into a more public spotlight last month when a management document was purportedly leaked from the BONES anime studio. The document listed Fullmetal Alchemist animator Yasuhiro Irie as "Hagane 2 kantoku" (Iron/Fullmetal 2 director).

After the purported leak, BONES President Masahiko Minami posted an official statement that said that no file with this same formatted information existed within the company. When asked about the possibility of a sequel to Fullmetal Alchemist or Darker than BLACK (another BONES anime), Minami told ANN, "It hasn't been decided yet. We are interested in doing them. As original science-fiction works, they were extremely fascinating. With these kinds of dramatic story lines, I feel that there's a lot we could do potentially."

Viz Media will publish the 17th volume of the manga version in North America this October, while FUNimation Entertainment released both the first television series and its theatrical movie finale.

clicky

Fantastic news.

I loved the anime (although the movie managed to slightly ruin it for me).

I went through all of Elfen Lied with a friend over the past two days, he's seen it through a few times (And loves it) and it was my first time.

Really good anime, not quite perfect and with its flaws but a fantastic watch overall. Very touching too;

The chief and his daughter

Highly recommended, provided you can face the incredibly dark themes of the series.

Also, the theme song is one of the most infectious melodies ever composed!

Yeah Funimation or rather the japanese corporation that they're getting the requests from, are being annoying. People are getting pissed off because the c&d notices are being sent out without it being licensed in America/Europe yet. Still, what can you do. Possibly some rogue, anonymous subber may take it up.

The new season is indeed looking good. New series by Legend of Galactic Heroes writer, new series by Manglobe and numerous random new series all seeming quite good.

I spent an absolute age trying to find a new anime series I was in the mood for right now and could get for a reasonable price. I stumbled across Kino's Journey which seems to be right up my street. Anyone here a fan?

Jazzem I really really reccomend Buso Renkin if you want a short series at a good price. The first dvd is out on Monday for about 16 quid and has 13 episodes on it. The final 13 episodes are out in October. It is an amazing series which must be seen by all, the main villain where a butterfly mask and little else half the time for Gordan's sake!

EDIT: And Gintama and FLCL deserve to be in the reccomended section, FLCL is phenominal.

WATCH IT! Kino's Journey is great. Story of a girl and her bike as they travel through various countries and the types of people they meet so there's no overall plotline but it's just a great series to watch.

The series FPS(Rock is that you?) are all good 'uns too.

I was in a state of bewilderment over this earlier. In screenshots I'd seen I could have sworn she was a he, but I had heard the character being referred to with 'her' several times!

It's already ordered though :) I do really like the look of it and it'll be refreshing to watch an untraditional anime (Even Elfen Lied had a high school scene dammit!) for a change. Thanks for the recommendation.

And I will check out Buso Renkin at some point Samurai!

I thought the art style (of the manga) was pretty terrible and none of the characters particularly appealed to me either, but the race sections were real page turners.

Does anyone have Nodame Cantabile Live Action, the full series?

For the first place, you should put reccomended J-Drama, I highly reccomend Densha Otoko and Nodame Cantabile, both very funny but Densha is amazing, anyone in this thread will love it, I won't spoil the story, try download and watch without knowing about it, don't worry if you've never watched a J-Drama, it was my first and had me hooked.

I showed my friend the first episode of Densha at 11pm, after the episode she instantly clicked to watch the second link. In the end, she watched every episode and ended up sleeping around 8am after a full series marathon, it really is that good!

Go watch Densha Otoko!!!
