One difference is the parents are not home in this.

Also, the main heroine leads an entirely different life to Kirino.

Hunter x Hunter finally returns to serialisation on the 26th of June  ...and then goes back into hiatus for another year no doubt.

The Berserk anime has finally reached the part where Guts dons the Berserker Armour.

Are there any places where you can download files rather than just view?

I only stream via them, but apparently if you sign up to kissanime.ru you'll be able to see download links.

I gave the series probably more of a shot than most when it came to the art style and animation. But those 5 seconds where Schierke is running through the mansion in a completely different style hurt me. Why was it there? It feels like it was just to show us what could have been. It actually looked so much better than the scenes either side of it.

It's been quite painful getting half-decent 2D animation sprinkled throughout the episodes this season. Overall it has felt like a big improvement over last year, but this episode in particular has had some of the worst animation yet which is a shame considering it featured one of the defining moments of the series. One can only hope it's due to budgeting for one of the final episodes.

The manga features some of the best art of any series yet it will likely never get an anime adaptation that does it justice.

Shocking isn't it? It does improve over the season and the superior blu-ray rips are out there.

It's worth noting that it cuts out an entire arc so the manga is the much better option to follow. Chapter 89 if you're interested in giving it a go.

Ta for the heads up! I was actually thinking of giving it a go anyway but that just made my mind up.

Thanks for the heads up, but I found a program called Manga Ripper that allows you to save the image files directly off a bunch of the larger streaming sites. :toot:

Currently watching and loving Rurourin Kenshin  Love the mix of cheesy sitcom-esque family comedy, and cool af protag/fights. And the music, too. Love the music.

I really need to get around to finishing Rurouni Kenshin, especially now there's that new Hokkaido arc being published.

Recent episode of My Hero Academia was absolutely amazing featuring some of the best fight animation I've seen in a long while. It really did the manga justice and i'd say it's worth watching even if you don't follow the series. Yutaka Nakamura is a god of animation.

Edit: Welp, Qwertee has JoJo T-shirts I NEED

OT Qwertee missed tee tip: search for tee name+artist in Google; chances are it's being sold somewhere else as well. Though it'll cost a little more than it did on Qwertee.

The Death Note "All In One" edition is arriving in the UK in September!

Yes, that means all 2,400 pages in a single volume. Ridiculous.

Ridiculously brilliant!

It's up for pre-order priced at £28 on Amazon. That is a hell of a lot of bang for your buck!

Can a mod please change the title to The Japanese Anime and Manga thread? It'd make it easier to search for.

Anyway! Finished the big storyline of Rurouni Kenshin season 2. (It's on UK Netflix!) My only gripe being that I didn't like how it dragged on at first; I understood the need to split them up, but I felt it still had a little fat that could have been trimmed. Other than that* it was really enjoyable, and we're now back with the eps I love most: Kenshin and co getting on with life.

*and that whole cramming masses of dialogue into a short space of time which the series as a whole suffers from. Why do some anime do that? Is it because they're trying to stick to original script and on screen timing?

I also started on Hunter x Hunter. (Coming off UK Netflix at end of July.) Enjoying it, too.

I'm watching this with my wife, it's a pretty good series but the way they deal with death and killing is so jarring. I think it might be because it feels like the show should be set in medieval times or something but they have cell phones and zepplins.

I dunno what I was expecting (something kid friendly?) but the body count and casualness of being confronted with murder in the exams was totally unexpected

It's a common observation with Hunter X Hunter. Early on the visuals and characters remind you of something like the original Dragonball, but you're soon introduced to unique abilities and actual psychopaths who revel in murder. A recent chapter ended with two youngish characters being killed, one beheaded whilst the other was gutted and left in a playground with birds pecking at their corpses .

Great series though, and it's finally out of hiatus although with Togashi's track record it'll probably be gone again in a week or two.
