Finished OPM yesterday, brilliant stuff.

I hope S2 isn't too far off.

There have been some good additions to the Netflix anime catalogue recently. Ended up re-watching season 1 of Saiki Kusuo and most of One Punch Man this past week.

Hopefully Mob Psycho 100 goes up soon.

I couldn't finish Hajimete no Gyaru. I could look past the fanservice but the MC's friends were just far too cringey.

I think I gave up on the episode that had the fat one stealing girls' recorders.

1) Yes his fat friend is very very creepy, the others I'd say are about average for anime friends.

2) I think the show really needs to be judged among it's peers, other harem anime. There's girls who aren't interested in the MC in a romantic way, there's no constant falling onto boobs, and most amazingly we actually have a MC that has a spine, that makes a choice about the girl he likes and he sticks with it, even rejecting other girls instead of just stammering and not giving an answer or making it super vague.

I mean I like harem anime but there's no doubt they don't exactly have the worlds best writing, neither does this but it is so refreshing from the norm and from what you would expect considering the first episodes. I'd even say it's not really a harem anime as there are some girls that like the MC he clearly only has eyes for his girlfriend.

I've very much enjoyed Overlord season 1 and 2 (on HorribleSubs). Anyone else watched it?

WTF! There's a new FLCL series coming out!

I am incredibly excited. But on the other hand also worried that it will never live up to the original which is really good for reasons that I honestly just can't put into words.

Also that description for Mahou Shoujo Ore...

This story is about a 15-year-old girl who is a newbie idol in love with her best friend's brother who is also a popular idol. But she runs into a scary yakuza guy and finds out that her mother was an ex-magical girl, and the yakuza was her mascot. Her love interest gets kidnapped by demons that look like burly men with cute squirrel heads. So she contracts the yakuza to become a magical girl, which in this story means she turns into a handsome guy in a magical girl outfit. On top of that, her love interest shows an attraction toward her magical guy form. Her best friend turns out to be in love with her and also becomes a magical cross-dressing guy to save her life.

Thus, their manager, who is a magical girl geek, then decides to turn them into an idol unit.

It's basically Twelfth Night, if you think about it.

And somehow that isn't the weirdest concept for a anime series I've heard of.

I "accidentally" stumbled upon Bible Black, I can't unsee that gooseberry fool

Found a new anime to watch, I think! (Only 3 or 4 eps in.) It's named Onihei and is available on Prime Video. It's a Edo period drama with somewhat grown up themes, graphic violence in places (first ep has torture) and really well done animation. (Mostly 2D with a hint of CG here and there.) My only minor gripe is that so far there doesn't seem to be continuing story. Other than that I think it's well worth checking out.
Not posted a trailer because couldn't find one which did it justice.

Season 3 of Boku no Hero Academia has finally started. Mostly flashback and anime original scenes but was nice seeing the students and teachers again. The upcoming arc is something really special and I can't wait to see certain things animated.

New opening is full of spoilers, sadly.

Really liked season 1 and season 2 up until the story switched to those lizard people and I lost interest and stopped watching.

I've added s1 to my bookmarks. Looked up trending streams and s2 is #5! In the middle of ep 1 at the moment at it's making me think back to old WoW guild  So yeah, dunno if I'll be able to watch rest of it if it continues to do that

Yeah episodes 1 and 2 reminded me of my old WoW guild and when I went I briefly went back to playing it. The guild used to be huge but there was only a few people left by that time  There's a lot of little things like that throughout the show. Recovery of an MMO Junkie had a lot of stuff like that too.

Persona 5 anime has started so might give that a watch since I couldn't be arsed finishing the game.

The lizard people arc is weak but only a few episodes and is necessary for character development. Thankfully I forgot season 2 has started until those episodes had already finished and a much more interesting storyline follows.

Lizard sex was surprising though.
