Funimation have picked up the rights to the My Hero Academia anime. They'll be simulcasting it once it starts up in Japan through their own streaming site.

Worth mentioning that they're planning on launching the UK version of said own streaming site soonish.

True, though I only paid $69 for a 1 year subscription to the US service. I suspect the UK one will be more expensive and have less content. I think Manga have the distribution rights for some Funimation stuff in the UK, so not sure if that might impact what they can put up on the UK Streaming service.

Considering that the UK trailer lists Attack on Titan, Fairy Tale and Ghost in the Shell: Arise, I would suspect that Manga wouldn't have a lot of influence here. Besides, I was under the impression that Funimation had a bulk deal that Manga got to release anything they wanted from the Funi catalogue on home video and Funi kept the streaming rights.

As for costs, the sub package is apparently £4/month, and I'd expect discounts for paying for longer up front.

If it does work out that cheap, and has the same catalogue as the US version, then I'll probably switch over. Will have to see what's there first.

That ad's not half bad.

The one thing that really struck me from McDonalds from Japan was how small the McFlurry was.

Another great chapter of JoJolion.

These flashback chapters have revealed so much about Josefumi and Kira, reckon we're mighty close to seeing them become Jo2uke. Damo is fast becoming one of my favourite villains, he's menacing in a completely different way to all previous antagonists. The way he just toys with his enemies while they're completely defenceless. :dread:

Less than a week for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable and Boku no Hero Academia anime.

JoJo Part IV anime off to a great start. Some people had mixed feelings over the new art style but I much prefer it to Part III's, it's gorgeous in motion.

I hope they cover each part. Part VI, VII and VIII would be amazing with the level of care David Production put into keeping faithful to the source material.

Just a heads up, apparently the internet archive has lots of manga...

Not sure why since I'm pretty sure copywrite laws still apply to all of them, but whatever!

Been re-watching Martian Successor Nadesico lately on Hulu.
Forgot how much I absolutely adored this series.

Well. Except for the ending :x

What a couple of weeks it's been.

Final part of the All Might vs Noumu battle in Boku no Hero Academia was handled very well in the anime, got really pumped seeing it animated. Hunter X Hunter has been stellar since the return from hiatus, I just hope Togashi can keep it up fora decent stretch. A merciless end to a fight with a character almost as lovably twisted as Dio in JoJolion. And over the past 2 or 3 weeks UQ Holder has gone full Negima sequel and it's all the better for it. There's also a nice bonus of UQ Holder anime being announced, but it comes with the manga going on hiatus for 3 months and shifting to a monthly series.

This doesn't seem like it would interest many here, but will anyone else be watching Love Live! Sunshine!! as it comes out? I expect StayDead will?

Ah, good, I suspected you might! I'm excited! :toot: I'm glad I'll have another nerd to talk about it with. (My IRL anime-watching friends probably won't catch up with it until later on.)

What a time to be a fan of Berserk.
New chapter released to mark the end of the hiatus, anime next week finally covering the Black Swordsman arc and the game confirmed for a Western release in early 2017.

gooseberry fool's good, yo.
