I think Love Live! Sunshine!! has been pretty good so far. I think it's amazing that they chose to make this show essentially about a huge u's fangirl -- it's like watching Love Live! fanfiction and it's wonderful. I particularly liked the Vietnam war flashback scene in E01, with a smiling-but-dead-eyed Chika-chan superimposed over START:DASH!!.

Re:Zero really surprised me. After seeing all the praise I decided to watch the first episode a couple of weeks ago. I didn't really know what to expect as it starts off like your typical fantasy series but it soon becomes apparent that it's something a bit special and surprisingly brutal at times. Rem.

Mob Psycho 100 has followed the manga pretty faithfully and that art-style is just gorgeous in motion. There should be some stellar episodes coming up. With this and One Punch Man it seems ONE has two mainstream hits on his hands.

I was quite hyped for Berserk despite not liking the hybrid CGI/anime style but it really has been disappointing so far. It's so sad that such an iconic manga series continues to be let down by such poor adaptations. At least I can rely on David Production to faithfully adapt JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, the quality of Part IV's anime has been on a whole other level and things should only get better now the main antagonist has been introduced.

Saw the Girl Who Leapt Through Time - 6/10 or maybe a 7.

I enjoyed the animation and the lovely, well-observed school-days-summer-haze atmosphere. I also really liked the casual, believable friendship between the trio, especially because Makoto herself was endearing and relatable, and not just a zany, 'adorable' japanime dream girl type.

But the film was also a too little pedestrian at points, and the time travel mechanic was never used as imaginatively (or as consistently) as would have been fully satisfying. And the ending was too ambiguous and woolly to feel properly sated. I appreciate it was more a slice-of-life drama with incidental time travel (as opposed to the other way round), but still.

However, it was accomplished enough to pique my interest for Summer Wars. :)

Yes

Just caught up with it. It's good! Domo!

At the risk of pointing out the obvious, I just love how ridiculously optimistic their portrayal of working in the games industry is. Everyone is so happy, even the girl that works so hard she never gets to actually go home.

So Ash Ketchum has finally reached the finals of a Pokemon league.

In 1 hour it will be revealed if he can finally win one.

Not been following this, so apologies if it's already been posted, but Akira is getting a 1-day cinema re-release in the UK for it's 25th anniversary. Great opportunity for those who've never seen it, and for those (Like me) who want to see it on the big screen.

Berserk has been confirmed for another season in Spring 2017. Hopefully it'll be an improvement over the recent season which has been a disappointment considering just how good the manga is.

Newest chapter of JoJolion.. Jesus Christ, Joshuu is such a scumbag he makes Dio look like a gentleman by comparison.

New Game! was great but I'm sad it's over! At least there will be an OVA soon.

Man, this could be the most painful hiatus for Berserk yet. Of all the places to leave it, Miura had to choose there! :dread:
