No, being set at Christmas doesn't make it a Christmas film.

At a push I might consider it an 'alternative' Christmas film, like Gremlins or End of Days, both set during Christmas but neither being particularly festive in theme or tone.

You could use your lame excuse to change any other christmas movie to another holiday or birthday.

Not particularly festive in theme or tone.

Rekindling love between estranged partners, spending time with family, christmas imagery and music all over the film. If these aren't christmas themes I don't know what are.

It doesn't need to be Christmas to have a party.
"Now I have a gun" would work just as well without "Ho Ho Ho".

The fact that it's Christmas is not essential to any of these.
