Very well. From now on, any posts marked as "edited" by the forum software will not count and will AUTOMATICALLY incur a -1 penalty.

Invalid. Gandalf was quoting a Facebook status update.

I won't penalise you for this nomination, however.

No full stop at the end of the sentence.

There is no such category in the game at present.

-1, making your score 0.

No! You highlighted a facebook status and then realised your mistake and changed it!

Unfortunately there is no evidence. If he edited it before the next person made their post, that's too bad.

Play will recommence at a time of my choosing tomorrow. Posts made while the game is not in play may not be stored up for nomination. When the game restarts (with the current scores and lists intact), only nominations for posts made afterwards will count. Any posts nominated from before the restart will result in a -1 penalty!

I'm teasing you my dear.

This round of the game ended at 5.30pm.

You're lucky that I didn't say that any entries after that time would be penalised (I should have done that...)

MCN, for the same reason your nomination is also invalid.

Okay, here are the standings at the end of Day One:

Current Nominations Leaderboard
Hexx: 9
Poncho: 7
El Diablo Rojo 52: 2
aaronayl1: 1
Benj: 1
Shadow: 1
JV: 1
Igor: 1

And the most named and shamed forumite so far is: Brelappins Little Hat.

Round Two will start at a time of my choosing. No nominations may be stored up in the meantime. Only posts that are written after the resumption of the game will be eligible for nomination.

New categories may be introduced and old ones taken away for the start of Round Two in order to mix things up. The categories currently "active" for nomination will be specified when the game restarts.

Can anyone de-throne Hexx and Poncho from the leaderboard? Only time will tell... remember, it only takes one mistake for anyone to be disqualified!

ROUND TWO IS NOW LIVE!

So, with Hexx and Poncho well out in the lead in the battle for the title of GR(ass)cade Winner for September 2008, can anyone else pick up the mantle and reach the victory target of 15 points? Or spot me making an error that would get me on one of the lists?

The full rules are in the opening post, but below is a quick list of updates and reminders.

ROUND TWO updates:

1. New category: incorrect uses of "to".
2. Category removed: incorrect use of "loose".
2. BONUS! Posts from Rapper are now eligible for nomination.
3. Only posts written after 5pm on Wednesday 17 September 2008 are eligible for nomination. Any error-strewn posts before that time will score no points if nominated.
4. Rule reminders: if the forum software picks up an edit in your nomination post after submission, you will be penalised -1. You MUST specify which error in a post you are nominating in order to score - simply posting up a link is not enough. Any incorrect nominations will be penalised. Any malformed links will be penalised.

Good luck, everyone!

In fact, does this fit a category?

+1. Proto did edit the post to correct the error, but only after it had already been nominated. I've put it into the apostrophes category, although it could also have gone in the no capital letters one.
