Maybe it's a sign of the times, but I literally don't know anyone at all that actually buys music. I know people that have Spotify or Amazon/apple music. But I don't know anyone that would buy a single track. If it's done on "listens" across streaming platforms, I doubt anything recent and decent would make the top 20. Or maybe I'm too old. I put on Radio 1 this week and it was horrendous. I went to Radio 2 and it was the good old times with Coxy and Scott Mills!

I've heard this track a few times without spending a single penny. And I've not illegally downloaded it and legit own all the beatles back catalogue. I actually feel bad as artists these day need a huge corporation behind them to get big and make money. I doubt we will ever see the likes of The Beatles again. Thinking over the last 30 years, in the UK at least nobody has got close to proper mass popularity like Oasis.

Maybe, we are living in a post pop music era. Or I'm just the thing I never wanted to be, my parents

This is genuinely brilliant

A nice footnote to their story.

Yeah, it's great to see the plucky underdogs finally get some success and recognition.

Considering how popular the song has been, they probably should have released it at christmas as a means of keeping that sausage roll wanker off the top spot.

He should do a duet with Hannah Ingram-Moore.

I don't know who she is (can't be arsed to look her up either), so i'll just assume she's super annoying.

I don't know how much of an outlier I am but I still buy music for a variety of reasons. A lot of the music I like isn't available on streaming services. I've found stuff that I like that I like that sometimes gets removed. Some of the bands I like outright say, "please buy our music, it's better for us" so I'd rather support the bands I like that way. I also like to download my music to my DAP so I can go for walks without having to take my phone with me.

I tend to use streaming to discover new bands, then go buy their stuff.

A Yuletide classic there from The Grifters.

Spotted a 7" vinyl copy in HMV Oxford St yesterday (they also had the CD and 12", but not the special ltd edition colour vinyl versions), so i've done a Moggy and picked up a copy as a neat collectable.

First time i've seen vinyl copies of it anywhere.

Father in-law is a big Beatles fan but thinks Now And Then is awful because it's too "modern". Just your typical OAP shouting at clouds

But it doesn't sound modern at all. Did he listen to the DaBaby remix or something?

Can't imagine what he's been smoking, it sounds very much of that era.
