Not at all a coincidence that's where the topic title came from

I needed a knee reconstruction a few years ago, which I was fortunate to receive for free on the NHS.

Merch from F1 teams in the 90's, it wasn't completely free per se as getting stuff cost me the price of a stamp, but that's just a technicality really.

I still have my team issued 1997 Benetton Renault Mild Seven F1 Cap.

I did get a cool Wrecker figurine though and a nice Mando mug. Also a porg plush which is cute and then some absolute tat plastic creature. Not bad for free.

June 1994 so before Definitely Maybe. That would have been a great time to see Oasis, right on the cusp of them really breaking through.

I saw The Strokes at Leeds Festival 2001 which was just after their debut album Is This It launched. There was so much hype and so many people trying to cram into the tent they had for the second stage that they had to be moved over to the main stage.

Yes, they released Shakermaker the following week. His n' Hers and Parklife had been out for a few months... good times man. :toot:

I paid for the lightsaber which would technically make the above items complimentary, not free, despite my use of the term 'free'.

I will not allow you to shame me in this way.

Not sure if it counts because technically I paid for a ticket (cattle class, naturally) but I once got upgraded to business class on a long haul flight from Tokyo. I was the first to arrive for check-in and they apologised because the flight was overbooked and asked if I minded being upgraded to business class for free, like I was somehow going to say "no" to that

Please do not post this in the "No Context" thread

Oh if upgrades count then my honeymoon in the Maldives was pretty damn boss. Got a free upgrade to a private villa with our own pool. Once in a lifetime kind of thing.
