Nintendo’s E3 press conference - date, time confirmed

Just got my invite for Nintendo’s E3 press conference. I don’t want to reveal the location, because I don’t know if Nintendo wants that out there! I will say that it’s not at the Kodak Theater this time around.

Glad to see Konami are able to announce what Hideo is up to. My most anticipated announcement of E3.

Will we ever see live feeds directly through XBL and PSN?

I think we will at some point, maybe not this year but it would be awesome if it did happen.

We had better have someone updating an OP with every droplet of info from the conferences, and any media that's released online, I'm not trawling like a madman through a huge thread again.

Just like last year then with Microsoft leading and Nintendo and Sony pretty much back to back. I have fond memories of running around after the Nintendo conference last year trying to make some dinner before the Sony conference started all the while struggling to pull myself away from my PC due to reading the hilarious Nintendo conference thread last year. And then the Sony conference seemed to last forever.

More of the same please, although preferably the discussion in the Nintendo conference thread will be more favourable this year, and Sony won't blab for as long about stuff we already know about.

Atari pulls out of E3, current plans in question

Atari has pulled out of E3, a mere three weeks before the must-attend mega-event is set to kick off. When contacted for comment, the company told Joystiq that it was a "proactive decision to attend but not exhibit at this year's E3 event." Although the publisher feels E3 benefits the industry, it is currently focused on "other selling and marketing initiatives" for Ghostbusters, Champions Online and "other to be announced titles." It sounds to us like someone is out of cash, which is the word on the street (and might explain Ghostbusters' surprise exclusivity in Europe).

We contacted the ESA, which runs E3 and still has Atari listed as an exhibitor, to see if the organization had received a check from Atari for the space on the show floor and meeting room -- the ESA referred all media calls to Atari. We contacted Atari and asked several direct questions regarding its E3 status -- and whether it has paid for the space it reserved. A company representative could only confirm that it will not attend the show and did not have any press events planned for LA during E3. We've been told that we should expect a more detailed answer sometime soon.

We need a special GRCade E3 logo. I'm sure someone creative will be able to come up with something amazing.

Sony's line-up is looking pretty decent-certainly the best of the big 3 that we know of so far. There are bound to be a few surprises in there too which bodes well for the PS3 this and next year.

Rockstar not showing anything at E3 News

Rockstar has told Eurogamer it has "no plans" to show anything at E3, gently dismissing rumours that more GTAIV DLC will be unveiled there.

"No plans to show anything at E3 at the moment but things can change," a spokesperson for the company told us.

When asked directly about the DLC - apparently called Blood and a Four Leaf Clover - Rockstar adopted the usual "we don't comment on rumour and speculation" stance.

This also means we'll see nothing of Red Dead Redemption at E3 either, however, nor LA Noire, which has been talked about in hushed tones since 2005. The latest whispers suggested the film noir-style crime caper was no longer PS3 exclusive and would be out this year.

Realtime Worlds hints at APB for E3 News

Realtime Worlds has teasingly suggested to Eurogamer that All Points Bulletin may be shown at E3, which would provide our first real glimpse of the promising urban MMO.

"I couldn't possibly comment at the moment," boss Colin MacDonald said of rumours that APB will feature during the Microsoft E3 Conference.

"But if we happened to be going, I'm sure we would make it known before too much longer, and we'd certainly give Eurogamer a shout to try to meet up." It's a bit like trying to shake and nod your head at the same time.

Realtime Worlds was working on All Points Bulletin long before the release of Crackdown for Xbox 360. APB development is being lead by Dave Jones, who helped create Grand Theft Auto many moons ago at DMA Design.

We know the world will feature two warring factions - Enforcement and Criminals - and that sub-groups can be formed from them.

Colin MacDonald has said APB is "the bastard child of everything we've been striving towards over the 15-20 years that Realtime Worlds, DMA and David Jones have been making games".

Pair that enthusiasm and refreshing setting with the track record of the studio, and the results should be well worth waiting for.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 will not be shown at E3 this year

Ubisoft will not be showing a playable version of Beyond Good & Evil 2 at E3 this year.

“We’re not doing any BG&E2 stuff at E3,” a Ubisoft rep told UGO when it asked to book an appointment.

The site goes on to say that it’s possible the game might make an appearance during the Ubisoft press conference, but don’t bet on it just yet.

Attendees will just have to be satisfied with Assassins Creed 2, Avatar and Splinter Cell, we reckon.
