So after a roughly 40 run losing streak as The Lost I finally got somewhere.

It was fairly unremarkable early on. The key item I had was Technology 2, which meant I could kill enemies from a distance fairly safely, even though I had little damage. By Depths 1 I was Guppy, thanks to some favourable Red Chests. However, the fly spawns weren't as much as I was hoping - I figured it'd be constant as Tech 2 hits repeatedly, but it seemed to be a few flies per second, rather than a constant stream.

So anyway, I decided to enter a curse room. I knew I'd die on the way out, but I figured as I had the Dead Cat, I'd just take the loss of 1 life in the hopes of the room being worth it. It wasn't worth it, so I exited, died, and respawned...only I didn't think this through. I respawned INSIDE THE strawberry floating CURSE ROOM. I had no way out. I was resigned to a fate of constantly leaving, dying, respawning and repeat, until the rest of my lives ran out. Wait, though. I have the passage rune which opens a trapdoor to the next floor. I'm saved! Let's just press X and OH FOR strawberry float SAKE IT'S NOT A DOOR TO THE NEXT FLOOR JUST STEPS TO THE SIDESCROLLING ROOM. strawberry float. Sake. So I go down, and in there is something interesting...the D4. Hmmmm. I was thinking of ways this could save me by using it, but nothing came to mind. Sigh. I went back up, used the D4, and continued on my spiky fate until I died. Oh well, I'll just have to start ag...wait a minute. I'm out! THE strawberry floating D4 GAVE ME THE HOLY MANTLE! The only item, that I can think of right now, that would have got me out of there. Not only that, but it rerolled me into having Technology 1, with pretty much as high a tear stat as possible, so this time, I really did have a constant stream of flies spawning. This carried me through to Mom's Heart, to Satan, and The Lamb. YES!

Boss Rush, Cathedral and The Chest to go. :datass:

I'm going cold turkey on the Afterbirth updates from here on out. Which will be hard, but I want to go in as blind as possible. Bit stupid to decide this after a couple of months worth of news, but still...

With the dead cat, if you'd just nudged against the curse room door spikes and died in that room, it would've respawned you outside it.

This is down to £5.49 on Steam for 24 hours and well worth that price IMO, if anyone who comes in here doesn't already own it.

It's worth full price. I still feel bad I got it through PS+. :lol:

Will be buying Afterbirth as soon as it's available though.

Boss Rush to go then The Lost can strawberry float off forever. Well, until Afterbirth. :dread:

And then you get the fun of trying to collect all the items for Real Platinum God.

I'll happily break the game with Isaac and the D6 to find the last of them. Though I have heard horror stories about finding Godhead.

It's making a Meat Boy and Bandage Girl I'm not looking forwards to. :dread:

I got lucky and have Bandage girl, now every time I get an early horseman, it will only drop the bandage girl item

Zartan, whatever you do with The Lost, make sure you're playing on Hard Mode. You don't want to have to beat each branch of the game twice with that clown.

Now to die from the frustration of Meat Boy and Bandage Girl. :datass:

So I was about to go on another Isaac run to try to find the last 2 out of 3 remaining items (Missing No. and D100; haven't unlocked Super Bandage yet) and in the first item room was the Book of Revelations. Decided to try for a Meat Boy/Bandage Girl, as it's rare to get that item so early. So...

Fought Famine. Got a Ball of Bandages.
Later fought Pestilence. Another Ball of Bandages. Nice!
Later fought War. A THIRD Ball of Bandages! Could it be!?
Then came Death.

Fourth and final Ball of Bandages. Zomg! Then on the next run I found the Super Bandage. Much luck, so unfrustation, wow.
