Some of the new items are very interesting. I particularly like the deadpan humour in the text. Example: Spider Box It's a box of spiders.

Found a few interesting secrets too in terms of rooms that weren't in the original, but I won't spoil that for anyone.

Loving it so far.

Speaking as someone who is absolutely appalling at the original isaac this seems a little easier. My first few runs have made it a lot further than I did on most runs in that version

I got as far as the mother there. I'll get scoffed at I'm sure but it seems to be based on the luck of whatever pickups you get.

It's on the PS Store now.

You'll have to search for it, and on PS Store it shows up with a price but if you add it to your basket and checkout it'll appear with the PS+ icon with a cost of £0.00.

To a certain degree, it is. So the skill comes in learning to get as many pickups as possible, identifying the ones you've found and avoiding unhelpful ones.

Beat Mom on my second attempt and I've unlocked a couple of characters since then. The real Binding of Isaac begins now.

Whilst luck is certainly part of it, every single run you get is winnable if you're good enough, which will come with experience.

Had 2 runs earlier. The first run saw a couple of new items, one of which really screwed me over...I can't remember what it was called, but it carried the effect of the Cursed Skull trinket, which meant that whenever I got hit, it teleported me to another room, which proved fatal when I fought Gurdy as I only had 1 heart. The second run went much better, and I beat mom. The near game-breaking combination of Scapular and Wafer meant I had no health problems, and I found a really cool new item which enabled me to jump, adding another element of strategy to movement, attack and defence.

I'm going to spend so much time on this.

It's like a more complex, demented Smash TV.

I like it.

Wow. Run 3 was *amazing*.

Got off to a brilliant start with a familiar that shoots a mini Brimstone beam. Sure to be one of the best familiars in the game. Then on the Basement 2, I got poison tears, and had an incredible Devil room which saw me take 3 items (unlocking Azazael) including 2 damage ups and Guppy's Paw, which I used to get rid of the last of my hearts (unlocking Lazarus).

A thin odd mushroom and a few tears up pills followed, along with the Fester's Quest trinket (can't remember the name) meaning I had powerful, plentiful, poisonous, pirouetting (I'm having fun here) tears supplemented by Brimstone shots. Pretty much coasted through to Mom, then used an Emperor card I picked up along the way on the Womb 2 to take me straight to Mom's Heart, which is a brilliantly redesigned boss fight (glad to see Edmund managed to sneak some bullet hell in there, which he always wanted to do). It would have been really hard to lose due to how powerful I was (despite low health) and thankfully I won.

I wanted to keep a note of the seed, but I forgot. I hope a patch comes through that will show you the seed at the end of the run, whether you win or lose.

I strawberry floating love this game, in case you couldn't tell. I can't possibly fathom anybody who liked the original not liking this more.

Didn't get on well with the original but I'm loving Rebirth much more.

I suck at it so I'll be dying more than actually beating Mom (not been to Wombs section) but I really enjoy it either way, as see silly things to make my guy seem hideous :slol:

You can rebind all the keys in the options menu. I have pills/cards to X and the map to O.

In other news, Soy Milk + Inner Eye = Amazing. 8-)

I just beat mom after 3 hours of play and 11 deaths. I have like 50 hours in the original and never did that; think I only even got to mom once

Rebirth is so smooth to play

Run 5 was another excellent one. Decided to go for Maggie this time, and within a few floors, I had huge, toxic, charming, fear-inducing tears. I always go balls-in with deals with the Devil, so I had 2 damage ups and a couple of other things I'm not sure the effects of (one was double drops, I think). Anyway, I coasted through to Mom's Heart again, and had the chance to go to Sheol for the first time. Unfortunately, I took 3 or 4 hearts of damage on a new trap in a room just before the boss room, which meant I could only take 1 hit on Satan. I did the first couple of phases flawlessly, but, with a slither of his health left, I took a couple of hits in quick succession and died.

Currently in the middle of a run with Azazael. Loving him so far.
