So yeah, we didn't get a chance to play Escape on Boxing Day, but we did play Cards Against Humanity. I've never laughed so much while playing a card game in my life! Everyone playing loved it, so I'd say that was a pretty big success. I might have to buy it again for myself now. :shifty:

This. Just setting up Arkham Horror was a pain until I separated all the bits into little boxes. After that it was much quicker to set up. I seem to recall beating the game once while playing with my brother, by closing all the portals before the GOO turned upp. I think we were lucky though, as it's much more likely that you'll all die or go insane while a GOO eats the planet or something. :D

Carcassonne is a good choice for a family game. It really is simple to learn and play, has next to no set up time but has a surprising amount of tactical depth.

Played Arkham Horror last night, managed to win against Nyarlathotep at 11/12 Doom and the Terror track just having hit 10 - all at 10 minutes to midnight. Excellent way to bring in the new year by saving the world :datass:

Well winning through elder sign placement is more like locking the door than defeating what's on the other side, and seeing as it was Nyarlathotep i'm guessing not very long at all. At least until next time.

I can see it but I'm disappointed in the lack of BSG, Civ and Dominion.

Don't like Dominion although maybe I should get BSG. Got Avalon, Werewolf and The Resistence which kinda scratch a similar itch.

Resistance is a nice BSG substitute, manages to distil the paranoia into a very neat game.

Played Keyflower yesterday. Not sure. I like the idea and the mechanics, but four rounds just seems to short. It's also one of those games where a sound knowledge of the rules gives you a huge advantage. I'd recommend, but bear that in mind if one of your players is new.

Been playing Descent recently. It's not too bad, a bit like Hero Quest.

I just don't think I'm quite into board games as much as I used to be.

Played some Boss Monster and Ticket To Ride last night, still undefeated in Boss Monster. 8-)

Ive also been playing a lot of Bohnanza and 7 Wonders, 2 very different but equally great games. Bohnanza especially can get very interesting with all the trading that goes on.

I could not resist and bought it all. No idea if the extra packs are any good but I really wanted the bigger blacker box.

Has anyone played Zombicide? Got it recommended but would like other opinions. It's a bit expensive.

Which CAH expansion has the original "bigger blacker dick" card?

Bought and played Zombie Dice and Tsuro of the Seas last weekend. Both fantastic games which I can see myself playing often.

Well recommended.
