What's this then?

Word association is probably a good way to describe it. The cards are all illustrated in a style very similar to Mysterium so it would be very easy to play with Mysterium's deck to increase the longevity of the game. Dixit's cards could be used in Mysterium also.

Each round of Dixit, one player selects a card from their hand, thinks up a sentence/word/mime/anything really, and plays the card facedown, telling the others the sentence/word/etc conjured by the card. The other players all choose cards that they think match and play them facedown. The cards are shuffled and then revealed. Players secretly vote for the card that best matches the narrator's story, and player whose cards are chosen score a number of points. But if everyone correctly guesses the lead players card then the lead player gets not points.

So your clue as the lead player ideally needs to be vague enough to not make your card obvious but still leave a chance for at least one person to work it out.

Oh, I know what Dixit is, but what's Mysterium and how come the cards can be used in Dixit?

Mysterium is structured Dixit (picture cards are given to you to solve a murder I. The who, with what, where format)

It has very very similar picture cards.

Mysterium is basically Dixit crossed with Cluedo in a co-op setting.

Continuing our month for month playthrough we played August in Pandemic Legacy. It's the first month where we had an impossible objective to complete. Had the objectivesearch in a faded city that is rioting. We had to purposefully let one city (Mumbai) outbreak twice just to set up ready to search there next game in October as we had no city in that colour any higher than level 1 (and only 3 that high). Our good run has worked against us, although we saw post-game that a nuke is now available which I am guessing is there to help resolve our sort of problem. Not sure when else we would use it. Objective and our solution was good thematically that we had to let a city fall to get the virus spread enough for it to create valuable research towards the cure.

Won with 6/8 outbreaks and two red cities primed to chain outbreak and cost us the game, knowing they were near the top of deck. 8 months down, only one loss so far. Already fearing the game will soon end and if season two is out this xmas...

If you like board games, this is an absolute must. No questions. Don't read the spoilers if you haven't played!

How many people are you playing with if you've only lost once?
I've just got December left to play in mine.

Someone died in our D&D game last night.

We're currently in a rush to reach a high level cleric to Raise Dead. Bit somber affair, but also fun (might not find it as fun if my future was in the scales)

Playing with four of us. I think we lost Feb Game 1. We played a perfect game that round but every epidemic infected the new outbreak location, including creating a triangle of death as we double drew on epidemic cards (one on a turn then one the next) so nothing we could do to stop.

Our current team is:
GI Jo - Soldier who can pick up cards.
Harima Kenji - Dispatcher.
Crichton - Medic
Shaniqua - Quarantine Expert.

Harima/Jo and Crichton/Shaniqua have the relationship where if you discard the other can pick up by discarding two. We also have red and blue diseases 4 and 3 upgrades respectively. Black is Coda.

August end of game board. Again, spoilers for those who haven't played! Also contains a July-based spoiler you might not yet have seen. Sure you're seen that though Hyperion.

If you have any board pictures August or earlier, I would be interested to see them!

Don't actually have any pics for our August game, but some earlier ones below
After our first game in January - we won, and Europe became infected with COdA
Image

After our win in April, we'd lost our first game in March so a few of the cities had taken a hit
Image

We then lost our first game in May before winning our second. More cities had taken a hit and COdA had begun to spread outside its boundries
Image

We won our next game in June, and COdA was continuing to spread. Sao Paolo memorably took a big hit for some reason, and became 'Collapsing'. We were pretty upset by that (how naive we were)
Image

July bent us over and strawberry floated us badly and we lost both games, COdA spread further, and we had some major outbreaks in Asia.
Image

Overall our record is
Jan: W
Feb: W
Mar: L W
Apr: W
May: L W
Jun: W
Jul: L L
Aug: W
Sep: L W
Oct: L W
Nov: W

So we're going into December with no added funding, but we achieved some key objectives in some previous months which has served us well. A couple of cities have fallen which has been an arse, a couple of places in the Middle East got royally strawberry floated over with multiple chaining outbreaks.
Enjoy September, we're still not quite over what happened to us in that month!

Played my first game of Risk Legacy yesterday. Not entirely sold on it, it's quite different in legacy from Pandemic's version, there's no legacy deck, just a few packages to open when things happen and some stickers to place at the beginning/end of game.
Also doesn't help that Pandemic's a better game than Risk, and I got screwed over starting last and never got anywhere :x

* There are SO many encounter sets I've already run out of sections. I've had to group all the treachery-only sets in the one section and with future expansions I'm going to have to start grouping the rest and maybe stick an index to the inside of the lid.

Tempted to buy one of these for Scenario/Encounter sets

The 3 ring binder approach works for player cards/deck building but getting things in and out isn't good for play,

You still finding it ok?

How to see the set icons in there?

Which size is it? I can see intermediate and large for same price?
