I spent a lot of time with the board and all the upgrades and characters all laid out coming up with a plan. And I reviewed some rules which I didnt understand right and I think we can manage this.

Accelerated Incubation only occurs on coDa colour cards so the 4 in Blue Europe, 2 in Red Asia and 1 in Yellow Africa don't infect from both decks. Nor can they cause outbreaks. Also the virologist now looks quite handy, although we've used up all the good relationships already. Finally the C4 and Riot gear upgrades will give us some immunity. Currently deciding between seeding the deck now with Riot Gear or using it as action 1 at the start of a game to ensure players are holding it.

Pandemic legacy season 2 is out next week. A friend already has it on order and I can't wait to get started!

A small group at my Pub Board Game group did Season 1.
I'm just cooly hanging about passively letting them know I'd like to join

Legacy is probably one of the best gaming experiences I've had. Truly engaging and a real rollercoaster! You need to stop being passive and flat out beg to join them for season 2!

Yeah, hope to get Season 2 although given I'm living in a different country now to the group I played Season 1 with, looks unlikely I'll play it any time soon.

Still more likely than Hexx though.

Picking your Pandemic group is like picking your life partner. You need to get it right to ensure it lasts the distance.

Would Pandemic Legacy work with 2 players playing as 2 characters each?

Technically you could play it solo but you'd be losing out on so much of the experience. 2 player would work but it really is best with more players

As cool as Pandemic Legacy is I can never help but wish all the legacy stuff was build around a better core game. There's no doubt Pandemic is very, very tightly designed, but to me it just feels like taking turns at a singleplayer game. I've heard some people play with basically no conferring of any kind out with a general plan, but you'd lose almost every time and having to deliberately handicap yourself to make it more exciting would suck the fun out of it a bit I reckon.

The legacy format would work brilliantly for some other games. Dead of winter legacy would be awesome, perma death, new zombie types, new locations as campaign goes on etc.

I'd also love an xcom legacy, the scope for introducing new alien types as invasion progresses and adding new soldier types and tech. World map could change as invasion takes over and panic levels increase.

XCOM Legacy would be immense!

Although I could see its execution being less than I would hope for.

Sadly I don't think the original is thought of highly enough to warrant a legacy version. Shame because I love xcom and it shares that lovely all together rooting for luck mentality that makes pandemic such fun.

And while purists don't like the app I feel it would actually make more sense for a legacy game to feature app integration. Would make logging changes easier to follow and reduce repeat set up time.

Had my first try at Rebellion rise of the empire expansion today! My epic win left me really deflated. Dumb luck and I stumbled across rebel base on turn 2! Advanced tactic cards allowed me to wipe out his best unit and I was able to win.

I should have been happy but it felt such a let down, took longer to set up than to play. I also didn't get to see half of what the expansion offers. I can see already how much of an improvement the combat is though!
