Amazing games as always gang PvE against xenomorphs was super fun. And yeah, Mullet MadJack looks great, super neat it's inspired by old violent anime OVAs

Regarding a game for next week, I guess I'd suggest Descent? Could be a nice change of pace given the slight genre shift I'm guessing if we did, we'd go with one of the source ports?

I've got a small shortlist of ones I was considering and Descent was pretty high up that list.
There's a sourceport called DXX-Redux that I'm probably going to go with, but I haven't played around with it just yet.

So it's likely to be Descent next, but I may pick something else.

I can't remember what it's called but I'd also suggest that weird max payne like loads of bullet time / leaping around game that we all used to play on Mumble. I think it was a source port of some kind.

Descent (1995)



So I'm posting this just now as I think this is a game you will want to tinker with before we start playing on Wednesday.

Steam is currently cheapest and also has a bundle of Descent 1/2/3 for about £14 or so.
Since I fully intend to play Descent 2 at some point it's probably worth pick up as well.

What you will need to play this week!

Descent - Steam or GoG version

Basic Setup
=========
1. Install the game using the version of your choice.
2. Extract the DXX-Redux .zip to a convenient folder.
3. Navigate to the game install directory and copy or cut the Descent.hog and Descent.pig files.
4. Navigate back to the DXX-Redux folder and paste the two files there.
5. Launch DXX-Redux using the exe in that folder.
6. Adjust video, audio and control settings to your preference.

NOTE: There are lots of settings available. The game is probably best played with M&KB, though if you can map it correctly a controller could work quite well. I would spend some time getting it configured to your liking.


Joining the Server
==============
1 - Should just be a case of choosing Multiplayer from the main menu then selecting the appropriate server from the list.

I have no memory of this. The only mumble stuff I really remember was CS:S and TTT (I hated TTT. ).

Descent (1995)

Ooh! Nice choice! I recall playing this on my PS1 and it was great moving through the tunnels in 360 degrees. A little easy to get lost, but good fun.

And, speaking of PS1, I noticed that another old shooter has just been released on current systems.

I've never tried it myself but it's generally regarded as a strange-but-cool shooter. The new Definitive Edition has been created by Night Dive and it's meant to be up to their usual high standards.
