Really pleased with the appointment of Cook. Sorry for nicking him off you Harman, but that's football I guess. Can totally understand the frustration from Chesterfield fans. Who do you think you'll get in to replace him?

Looking forward to seeing what Cook's going to do over the summer. I can't see Wallace staying even if Cook wants to keep him: which incidentally I don't think he will. He'd probably rather take the money and put together his own team, which I'd probably agree with. Got a few players out of contract in the summer that I'd like to keep hold of, so here's hoping they still have a future with us.

I'm just really pleased we've appointed a manager that we can get excited about. Honestly can't think of the last time this happened to us. Redknapp maybe? :slol:

Exciting managers are not always the best ones. My favourite managers over the years for Bristol City have never been the glamorous ones (glamorous for Bristol City ;) ). I remember all the excitement over the appointment of Steve Coppell for instance. :dread:

I think PPM means "excited" in the sense that there's a genuine belief at the club that we have a vaguely capable manager

That's what I meant as well. We all thought Coppell was going to come in and send us up into the Premier League. Turns out he was a twat. Cotterill was not very exciting but has won us two trophies in one season, which is unheard of for the likes of us!

This is utterly off topic, but why is the I in your name capitalised?

To be fair, Cotterill is completely unrecognisable as a manager right now. Not quite Tony Pulis levels of transformation, but not that far off.

I was really pleased with the general capability of the managers being linked with the club. It slightly beggars belief we have been so utterly limited up until then, but I guess thats what a balanced chequebook buys you. Paul Cook certainly has the pedigree, and the make-up of what feels like a top modern day manager, rather than an old name going through the motions, I hope he does the job.

Apparently Dean Saunders is favourite to replace Cook :dread:

I complained about a topic title having a rogue capital "I" in it, I guess a mod changed it to bug me. I didn't mention it in the hope of them changing it back having thought I didn't notice or care, but that clearly hasn't worked as it was about 2 months ago.

I didn't even notice until I saw the name in a quote earlier. Can't be that annoying.

Let's see who Boro are going to find themselves up against then. Would prefer to see Ipswich go through to the final, I think. Hopefully whoever it is will get stuffed at Wembley.

I have a sneaking suspicion that not only will they win today, but that Norwich are going up.

I know it was probably instinctive but what a terrible decision to block that with his arm. Boro v Norwich it is then.

Just switched it back on after 0-0 at half time to see Ipswich a man down and a goal down. What happened?

Berra made a goal line clearance with a very obviously outstretched arm.
