A few more Olympic comments.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/37150572

Actually China came second in the medal table. Typical of the BBC to cheat and use golds

Also why do women's medals count towards it the same as men's? They are a lower performance level so not the same difficulty

I feel truly proud to be British.

=does your 'british' include Somalis?

usual practice of Britain, Canada, US & Australia spending big money to Sabotage every Global event held in Nations which refuse to buckle-under is Disgraceful & Embarrassing. We did it to S Africa, Beijing, India & Brazil only to see them Excel. Stop it, please, we are Better than that, aren't we??

BBC, you can't just make up the story. By measuring the overall performance in terms of the total numbers of medals gained by countries, team GB (Somalia) actually came at the 3rd/4th place

1) EU >170
2) USA 121
3) China 70
4) Team GB (Somalia) 67 (Somalia inclusive)
---

Don't forget any athletes who got a medal is the world-class.

Not being a regular contributor to the BBC's "Have Your Say", I'm truly shocked by the ill-informed, inane and ignorant comments posted here. The worrying thing is that these people get to vote.

The state of some of this

There's no IOC Medal Table but ordering by Gold is the internationally recognised method of choice. GB got 1 more gold, and 5 more silver. Who cares that China got 9 more bronze.

Moggy, any article will have stupid comments.

For example here are some from a story about a random Greek waitress in the US upset over a racist not tipping:

When you look at the rate that Whites are disappearing from America, can you really still call it a Western Country. Part of it looks more like downtown Johannesburg or Mexico city.

So wheres the attempt to interview the supposed racists? Always two sides a story. Then again, seems when it comes to blaming white people for you problems, skies the limit and you dont need proof.

I noticed stuff never post any stories from the US where the European is the victim of racism. How about the woman who was just stabbed and burned to death by a mob of blacks because they "hate white people"? Doesn't fit the white bashing agenda.

reminds me when I was in Nelson with my few months old fabulous adopted very brown baby and I am white. Waitress served me, saw baby and with an incredulous voice asked, I that YOUR baby she looks SO different..." My response with a sigh was, "Yes my white wife burns everything..." The waitress in the 'Black Tea Pot Cafe' turned red, yes tomato red... Such attitudes exist but life goes on...

 @ the last one

Plans have been announced to create special units inside prison to hold prisoners who hold extremist views.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-37151089

We wouldn't have this problem if we had left Saddam Hussain and Gadaffi in power. They kept the fanatics under control.

Well well, Andy Chumpy to be jailed at last. The loony left, middle class, PC obsessed cranks that infest HYS must be crying into their vintage Champagne. They will always put this primitive savage's rights before those of the 7/7 victims who had their arms and legs blown off by followers of the religion of peace. Their hero's mouth has been shut at last and they hate it.

Radical and extremist paramilitary groups or individuals should be incarcerated in military prisons and treated as such with isolation and severe punishment for any misdemeanors.

So build a few mini Guatanamo Bays here and problem solved. If the Court of Human Rights tries to intervene show them the remains of soldiers and innocents after a suicide bomb attack.

Seems like an expensive solution to a very simple problem.

If they want to preach their filthy bile about how wonderful their respective religions are then I suggest we simply deport them to a country where that religion prevails.

We can then use that cash to fund things like defence and science education to make sure fairy tales don't kill any more people in future.

Britain has never been an Islamic country. It doesn't owe muslims anything. The right to religious freedom comes with a responsibility also - conform to the democrat, egalitarian laws in this country otherwise be jailed, deported or stripped of citizenship. Whatever is in the best interests of this country (interests that trump the right to religious freedoms)

How about deporting them all and banning them from the UK before the need to jail them has occurred?

If they are so keen on sharia law maybe we can make use of it in exceptional circumstances for people like them and pubilcy flog em to death - it may help make the majority of the naïve people who rant and rave about getting this law here to think twice when they realise what it involves - in the mean time the rest of us law abiding citizens we stick to our law that has empathy and logic behind it

Merkel has just imported a fresh batch of them into Europe.

Auf Wiedersehen Germany

We've already enough home grown ones here due to the PC left brigade allowing it to fester on our shores and spread hate in schools,Uni's , mosques, prisons etc

They want to kill us,and we're supposed to show them sympathy to them ?

Never ! Let the scum rot in solitude ,without their big book of lies !

Wind musicians have been warned to clean their instruments to avoid "bagpipe lung".

https://www.theguardian.com/science/201 ... g-reported

Switch to bellows blown pipes would be my advice. Problem solved.

No doubt a charity will be formed to seize on the opportunity of "raising awareness" and ensure its directors a very lucrative in the process.

I must take back my earlier comment on the HRT thread.

The Guardian is now reaching Daily Mail standards of subtle journalistic misogyny and prejudice against Scottish people, who are apparently all going to die of bagpipe induced diseases.

If you're a Scottish menopausal woman, I'd give up now.

One should have ones pipe cleaned on a regular basis, preferably by an experienced pipe cleaner able to apply good pipe cleaning techniques resulting in a thoroughly clean and blown pipe

Even more fatal to the cow whose intestines are used to make the bagpipe. Disgusting.

Interesting, but I've played the pipes since 1975 and have never had a problem, so let's not over-inflate the threat level. Maybe someone should report about the dangers of breathing in all the auto exhaust that we permit to surround us every day? But that might make regular people uncomfortable and upset backers of the status quo. Distracting readers with bagpipe stories is much safer, yes?

Isn't life wonderful when you dissect everything down to an understandable level? Presumably up next on the doomsday horizon that has become our national media will be Lyttelton Syndrome contracted by unsuspecting devotees and fans from expelled putrid sputum from his trumpet drain. Jazz musicians harbour some awful bugs..

Mo Farah is a Somalian and i do think its unfair on Somalia he doesnt run for them

Nothing against the man personally
but I find it weird why British people pretend he is one of their own. Especially as he lives in America

how is a short kayak sprint a proper sport?

Seriously are they making these sports up as they go along now?

and Nicola won a poor competition. She was the only serious boxer in it. not very prestigious when theres no competition. Mens boxing is taken more seriously

these olympics have been the perfect opportunity for the mediocre to win some medals but they arent top class sports

I can't imagine Nicola Adams has many GCSEs

Gold Medal for boxing
Gold medal for stupidity

My dog is smarter than her

Mohamed Muktar Jama Farah (Mo)..... is as about as British as Zola Budd.

Surely he will get a knighthood.

Oh well good luck to him lol.

He's a Somalian and nothing will change that no matter what country he adopted or what flag he has draped on his back when celebrating. If he were a Brit he would be born in the UK and then i would have no problem with him. At least Boris is a Brit.

China is putting relentless pressure on the Brits, the Chinese still have a say in things yet, will see if the Brits have ran out of steam.

I'm on mobile so haven't fact checked this, but isn't Mo's dad British? I thought he had a Somalian mother, but had dual citizenship? Seems ridiculous to try and claim he's not British, nobody would do that if he had a white French mother and a white British father...

North Korea has test fired a missile from a submarine.

http://www.dailyfail.co.uk/news/article ... l#comments

Can these tests be responsible for the earthquake in Italy? Albeit thousands of miles away?

Whatever fat boy we will deal with you after Isis

Lil Kim sold Iran some long range missiles last month. Needless to say they didn't work. But seriously as we edge out of the passive fiscal stage of WW3 and move into hot war, all is to play for.

Time to destroy them then Isis show what our nuclear bombs can do hopefully the fallout will spread around a lot and wipe out some of the other unsavoury countries nearby

The Smericans will know exact location of nuclear weapons in country. If they are worried the USA could easily stop him but it goes to show if a country has no asset no one is interested. Funny we invade the middle eastern countries for less than the wee man has done to his country. The UN need to play their part too instead of letting others take the lead what does it take to get the full night of the UN involved I'm sure it was created to protect others

Lean pickings on the BBC today as they don't seem to be offering anything up for comment. They do however have an article about a poll to find the greatest film of the 21st Century (I assume so far, unless the BBC are banning all future movies :x ). The list is a little high brow for some....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-37164880

Also which is the better film in Avatar and say Grace of Monaco? Who decides and on what grounds they are totally different. Both great films but I am surprised Avatar isn't listed, yeah it's basically cowboys and Indians in space, but what a fantastic piece of art it is and important in film making they even invented a new language.

Not saying the films I say here are best ever but none of the films mentioned were even groundbreaking! Come on no finding nemo, no lotr, no Harry Potter, no kill bill,no the Help, Borat, zombieland, black swan, shrek, monsters inc, lincoln lawyer, Dallas Buyers club and so on and so on. I doubt I would have ANY of those films in the list yet alone best of century!

Try and remember critics are more interested in trendy arty stuff than actual enjoyable films.

If ever there was proof that critics are consumed by their own self-importance, then this list is it. A bunch of pompous wasters whose only ability is to sneeringly cast judgement on others' hard work without doing any themselves. They are parasites living safely in the dark dingy shadows of those in the industry on whom they feel qualified to judge.

Mulholland Drive...no 1...REALLY !!

I guess the critics don't watch action adventure movies, or probably consider them common or something. Still you'd have to stretch the imagination a lot to believe this is a list of great films. It's more a list of films your girlfriend made you sit through.

So you've not got the money to keep the Six nations, honour the F1 contract or have any England cricket, but you've set aside funds to conduct pointless surveys which will be out of date by the turn of the year.

Bravo BBC, bravo.

Never heard of any of these films. Maybe I'm just not cultured!

A scam has been uncovered on Instagram.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-37172022

I blame the rise of internet lingo. The fact that people are falling for such a poorly typed scams must be linked with the appalling grammar and spelling people seem to have these days...

Instagram - making tables full of people take pictures of their lunch...

This story links in quite nicely with the story yesterday regarding women who when returning to work after having a kid on reduced hours, expect the same pay as a person on full time hours.

Banks, Social Security and employers all expected to give out free money, and shock; horror when they find out that's not how it works in the real world.

Give me strength!

Woh, I'm going to Barbados, woh, backa to the palm trees
Woh, i'd better throw a sickie.

Found that on instagram.
Not amricam.
So probably off topic.
Chase me.
Isn't that a bank.
Oh God, i don't know anymore.
Happy advertising revenue generating beeb.

Racist photo.

At a time of heightened racial tensions, the BBC is negligent in stirring up ill feeling.

A disgrace. SHAME ON THE CACK-HANDED BBC

The BBC has now earned itself a page ban from my hub, bullzhit such as this can nolonger be tolerated, there is no longer any purpose for the BBC. Dragons Den is closest thing to a decent show and thats ruined by the twit telling everyone whats going to happen before it does and it be spaced out for adverts , so they can sell it on down the line to channels that advertise... Bye bye BBC
