Women on maternity leave go travelling.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-35688140

So our taxes are being used by women to have nice, long, exciting holidays....

Not to mention the burden put on employers and coworkers so these people can have an extended jolly.

Great.

Rub our noses in it why don't you?

All fully paid for by us and their colleagues.

I don't mind, just saying.

But when you come back part time and your colleagues pay is now a bit higher than yours, please don't cry SEXISM!

(That's how the rich divide and conquer us, making us blame each other whilst they steal all the loot and give each other gongs)

Just have 2 kids and enjoy

Clearly the current maternity leave entitlement is far too generous for some. I do however suspect this kind of thing is limited to a small number of the 'oh yar' brigade because most couldn't afford to do this.

I do wonder though - once annual leave is factored in, a woman can essentially leave the office for 1 year and 2 months. How much time does it take to recuperate and bond with a child?

Angry single no-hoper men ranting about successful women. What's new.

I took a year off work and got paid less than my husband who worked full time.

SEXISM!!! WACISSSMMM!!!!!

Help I'm being oppressed because there is a global conspiracy against us womyns!

We should get paid the same regardless of how much work we do! Because reasons! Ain't that right BBC/Guardian?

Apple have been ordered to pay tax to Ireland. The BBC commenters are loving it...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-37220799

APPLE PAYS TOO MUCH TAX !

Corporate tax should be 0%. It's double dipping and it's stupid.

Abolish corporate tax. This will make British enterprise more profitable, and hence more attractive for capital investment. This will lead to enterprise: companies hiring Brits, paying them wages (which are income taxed anyway), to provide things we want. Oh, how horrible!

This will result in more jobs loss

this is all because of BREXIT AND THE PPL WHO VOTED FOR BREXIT

SHAME ON YOU

RUINED BRITISH AND IRISH ECONOMIES

FACT

Perhaps they should be renamed iLand?

I am playing my tiny violin. Apple fanboys, tax evasion deniers and libertarians must be crying into their coco pops over this story.

Hahahahahaha.

Come on southern island stick the rods up to the eu join the union, border situation sorted, sell sweatie land for a pound to the eu result we get a new member to the union the eu get a bunch of ungrateful scroungers a good fit me thinks.

I was just the other day updating my blogroll on my iPad 4 when I realised. I mean, I'm not saying that I have never fallen foul of watching Big Brother, but come on, we've got to have some standards. Oh well, as long as the frankenfood corporations can keep making a profit hey?

"But you would be the first to complain if you were burgled and the police said sorry no money to come out or the fire brigade never turned up to a fire"

I would rather pay a private fire, police or ambulance service that would spring up in their void. It would be better value and provide a better service too, tried getting the police to do anything lately?

On this page when viewed on an tablet (oh god, ok I admit it an iPad), there are 8 links to different Apple stories. 8.

Totally excessive
Totally deplorable
Totally unfair on other tablet manufacturers

Look at the other tech article about water, and you'll see a huge picture of some hipsters next to an apple monitor.

YES BBC. WE GET IT. WE ARE SICKENED BY IT. STOP YOUR LURID ADVERTS.

Let's lurch away from the lefist BBC and head to the Nazi Mail. Bill Bryson has written a book on his love of Britain. Surely the DM commenters can find nothing wrong with that?

http://www.dailyfail.co.uk/news/article ... l#comments

"A boring old man interested only in what he thinks we were like 50 years ago. He might like to try fiction writing - maybe already has. Yawn. Zzzzzzzzz."

Yes maybe, but think forward 50 years, when people look back, and think, what idiots where they, chasing an imaginary Pokemon halfway around the country on a mobile phone, now that is both wiered and boring to me. The young of today, do really need to get out more.

WHO IS this patronising little man? For his information, this "rainy little island" has been one of the most influential countries in the whole world, had the world's largest empire and has contributed MASSIVELY in every field of human endeavour throughout history. We also, he might remember, had a very big hand in inventing and developing his own country. America is based on British values. He seems to have the attitude that he has done us the most almighty favour in living here.

Go away Bill, you are just an old pensioner wanting our benefit pensions like all OAP scroungers in this country

Britain is a joke when it comes to its justice system, the teaching of 'evolution', abortion, stem cell research and the indulging of h o m o s e x u a l s and their pathological lifestyle.

And that dear folks is why certain areas of the populace will never fit in, they will never ever adopt purely British culture, for them it's not the beauty or cultural history, it's just money, money to send back to to their sess pit countries and to dispoil the areas in which they live, you can bet your life savings not one as ever read this book, or will ever.

Unfortunately Britain, London, in particular, has changed so much for the worse because of migrants from the ME every fr g where, it's like disgusting Cairo.

And ALL migrants have fallen in love with this small Island because the benefits to them are a lotto win funded by mugs like me

The funny things about that Bill Bryson article is that it's actually fairly positive once you actually read it - a skill not known among the Daily Fail audience - also he's written loads of books about England already, why should one more be any different?

Some truly stimulating conversations on Breitbart...

Musician and serial Donald Trump-basher John Legend weighed in on the Colin Kaepernick-inspired controversy surrounding the National Anthem on Twitter this week, calling “The Star-Spangled Banner” a “weak song.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-hollywood/ ... weak-song/

Truly a LEGIONARY idiot

Legendary Somalian idiot

He isn't Somali.

How can you tell?

It's simple enough to verify that John Legend is not Somalian

Yes he is! When I was in Somalia for a military operation he was asking me for gum and I told him to go to hell! That's why he doesn't like America

Idiot. John Legend is not Somalian

Johnny boy you have resorted to name calling because you know your Mogadishu kid hates America and you can't believe it!

India's culture minister says foreign women should not wear skirts while visiting.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-37212219

If a Western woman enters a religious building and is asked to cover her head, 99% of the time she will respectfully do so (even if she doesn't belong to that religion).

However, if an Asian or Middle Eastern woman is asked to remove her face veil on Western soil the requestor is immediately branded a racist, pervert or worse.

Just an observation and statement of fact.

To be fair a lot of his comments are probably quite useful and would equally apply in many of Britain's town and cities, which are largely no-go areas if you are a white person alone at night.

If he wants to send some of those "do's and dont's" cards to Leicester, Bradford and Birmingham then I'm sure we'd reimburse the printing and shipping costs

I support nations and countries being open about their rules and norms. We need to do the same, then people can make an informed choice as to whether that/this place is somewhere they feel comfortable to go to. If they want to discourage tourists from skirts in India then all good, if they want to ban the burkini in France then all good. Maybe people will stay away if they don't like the rules

I should have thought that any self-respecting, decent woman visiting India would abide by local customs, including manner of dress.

Going on the streets at night, brazenly flagging their wares, is a sure way of inviting unwanted attention, assault and rape.

Even with such provocation, I'll bet the so-called victims will blame the perpetrator rather than themselves and their stupidity

JUST WHAT IS IT with Asian men and how they dis-respect ALL women ??

(apart from their mothers whom they are terrified of)

GET A GRIP and stop living in the STONE AGE

Indian men are generally sexually deprived they may have their wives but they would go out to prostitutes to seek white women can you imagine if you are white and blond wearing a skirt and and a blouse in India men are aroused just by the look and some imagination.

Joan of Arc did not dress like a man to ward off being raped by the French army She dressed like a knight in shinning armor because she wanted to liberate her country. The Maid of Orleans was spiritual and brave. The French soldiers admired and respected her.Wearing men's apparel was easier riding a horse in battle. She was betrayed for political reasons

Pressure grows on the UK to ratify the Paris climate deal.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-37272671

Climate change ? Global warming ? Save the planet ? ........... and the all-time classic ..... 'Carbon footprint' ?

What is this utter tripe ?

The rubbish that governments force-feed the masses is astounding.
More frightening is that they're all taken in by it, and believe it !!

Wake up people
This entire 'save the planet' exercise is a myth dreamed up to raise taxes.
Government leaders all flying across the world to meet for a jolly at tax payers expense, to supposedly discuss an issue that they can do absolutely nothing about.
Is everybody gullible enough to believe all this cr@p ?
Even worse, these stupid people are allowed to vote in an election.

Ok .. lets all take this seriously .. we can all do our own little bit .. so I propse that to rid ourselves of the threat that methane has on our climate that we all go shoot a cow today ... and I dont mean Nicola Sturgeon or Angela Merkle

Fellow Climate sceptics:

Get your jibes in re Tree-hugging in now 'cos Eddie Izzard has got back from picking his pink beret up after the Brexit demo y'day, and he and John_from_Hendon ain't gonna be happy when they see so many ppl aren't taken in by this climate guff.

Anyone remember Y2K? when the date flipped over on your Amstrad?

Traffic lights were all going to go green, planes falling out of the skies, hospitals blowing up, fires, floods, famine, mass chaos, dogs living with cats...etc.

What happened? all that money that was paid to consultants, initiatives, summits?

Four-fifths of a frogs fart that's what.

Same same climate change ;)

I reckon we in the UK are doing our bit for climate change, I gave up my Brut 55 deo when I read I was destroying the earth, and now the ozone hole has closed up, QED.

So I've fixed the ozone layer, I just don't smell as s3xy as before and can't pull as many birds as I used to :(
