As many as one in 25 people are classed as homeless in the worst-affected areas of England, a new study has shown.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-41889923

We'd have a lot more homes if we didn't have so much immigration. We are a small island with limited land space, immigrants please look elsewhere.

Get a job and you won't be homeless, simple. Stop being so lazy!

Just the reason why people voted for BREXIT ...
Were full...
NHS at breaking point, homelessness, children living on the streets..
Sooner we are out of the EU and mass immigration slows down / Stops the sooner houses will become available

homelessness is a lifestyle choice for many sadly.
and the lack of will from the police and councils to deal with this and the associated problems of begging in city centres is absolutely SHAMEFUL.

Rough Sleepers are the true homeless. No one else. For the rest, if not for some rough sleepers its a lifestyle choice. It's up to them. Their choice to do something about it or not.

The map mirrors Labour support areas.

A textbook example of what voting Labour achieves.

Strange that these are the Labour areas that have welcomed the most migrant asylum seekers who just so happen to be housed

The answer is to stop taking drugs and go and get a job.

Homeless people are idiots.

Busk for a train ticket to a new area.

Lose all identity papers.

Claim to be a foreigner with nowhere to live.

Instant housing.

Unvetted mass immigration at record levels whilst we have an epidemic like this is disgusting.

What does homelessness have to do with civilised society?
We live in a free country, have the same opportunities and make our own choices in life.
And since when not wanting to work became part of the civilised society?

Lots of so-called homeless around here. They live in old cars and vans, and they like it.

It might be possible to build more houses if we increased speed limits. In my town it is impossible to build more houses as cars coming out of hypothetical estates would be unable to pull out. The speed limit is so low the gaps between cars are smaller than the length of a car, increase speed limit to 60 and might be able to slot into gaps.

That's why it got added, I just couldn't work out the connection between speed limits and homeless people.

He obviously is annoyed about residential speed limits and needs to tell someone so crowbarred it into this comments section about homelessness.

Horrific comments though, the lack of understanding and empathy is quite scary tbh. We have a major homelessness problem over here at mo as we dropped the ball on building houses, it should resolve itself to some degree next year with 10k social houses being built but many beds have been opened and anyone with children live in hotels which is not ideal but I'd rather them being in a safe place while waiting for a house.

John Lewis advert.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-41939115

Forced down our throats again this year, get a life JL. If this was Africa constantly showing white's advertising stuff the left would kick up a right old stink. Reverse racism gone mad !

Why can't we just have a white and black family enjoying Christmas, what would be wrong with that? why does it have to be a diverse family? And if it going to be a mixed couple please can it be a white male with a black female or do the advertisers, not like black beautiful woman.

I told my children about this advert.

I explained a monster came from under the bed.

They are now scared and told me they don’t want Christmas.

This means I won’t need to buy anything from John Lewis.

Well done, idiots.

Another mixed race kid born from a black father and white mother. HOW ORIGINAL. HOW DIVERSE.

"eagerly anticipated" by whom I wonder? BBC hacks with nothing better to write about. NOBODY with a brain cares.

We all know the formula by now.

Touching personal story + mixed kid with a black father and white mother + funny quirk + tearful soundtrack = Christmas ad.

Lovely multicultural advert. I assume the monster is gender neutral?!

Not diverse enough, where is the gender neutrality? Also its white girls with black men ALL THE TIME. Enough already!

It's not very diverse, where's the white bits ?

It wasn't inclusive enough & tick enough boxes for me.
Having a black M & white F couple is sooo last year.

What they should do is have 2 sets of neighbours, of male & female gay couples, 1 couple of Asian origin (but two different shades), with all their kids being 1 black, 1 white & 1 ginger.
2 of them should be disabled, but only one in a wheelchair & They should all hug & cry at the end..

I eargerly awaits Guardians po- faced column complaining that there are not enough LGBTQ actors in it and way too many white ones who are probably also christian and that will never do.......

There's Ramadan, Diwali, Chinese New Year, etc. to look forward to too. Are we going to have mixed race Indians, Muslims, Chinese couples with mixed children in the ads too? Looking forward to it ;)

I really hate the social media gushing over the John Lewis adverts and other Xmas ads, it’s the same women every year who claim to cry with either joy or sadness at them.

However I’m not as grumpy as some of the comments above.

Nothing about brexit there. That's strange.

The commenters were just too outraged about the mixed race family to remember Brexit.

Just one from Football365 because it caught my eye

Hunger and perseverance will go further than overpaid show ponies. Bring in youngsters for this world cup would be a dressing in disguise.

Venus and Jupiter conjunction.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-41956191

Who'd get up at 4am just to see a bunch of planets? You can see them on wikipedia if you care that much.

Get more excited watching a blank wall than this stuff. Until aliens are on dry land I'm not interested in any of this science/space malarky. Get it off BBC page!!

We were created with intelligent design, some of us may disagree but when admiring the sun, moon, stars, flowers, birds, bees, trees, rivers, mountains, lakes, oceans, cloud, rain, wind, ice - these have all been gifted to us - unfortunately, we cannot appreciate what is free to enjoy; consumerism seems to have sucked our ability to be happy with little pleasures in life, now we all want a mansion

A very rare coming together almost as rare the E.U. giving up on its plans to scupper the will of the British people.......

So close to colliding! Surely that would have caused tragedies even as far as earth!? I think we should be watching planets a lot more closely, we have got lucky this time with the near miss :(

Apparently we’re all on a big spinning ball, rotating on a fixed axis, at 1000mph and orbiting a sun at 67,000mph, all of which is hurtling through infinite 'space' at an even greater rate of 400,000mph.

The thing is, for me – I don’t feel any spinning, do you ?

No. Venus is a star. It has a hot surface. I looked it up. 460 Celsius, which is pretty hot in my book.

Ha! I just read that Venus is called the morning star!!!!!
I was right all along!!! Red faces and apologies all round!

Still not sure I believe this. I don't think anyone really know if Venus is a star or a planet. It's so far away and nobody has been there.

With all this furore and the event itself it's got me lamenting.

I just cannot see through a telescope!!! I've tried and tried. Even with my nephew's and all I see is black! The scope's have been pointed and on an object or the moon but, I csn't a thing.

Bet it's my visual impairment that's the cause of this. Shame really.

Well Venus is an entire planet on fire, just like the Sun, so technically these mentalists are completely right.

I almost left out the Venus is a star comments because it is so obviously trolling, but then I remember Barry and realised that some people really are that stupid.
