"I hate their country, their culture and their people. I sound horrible saying that but oh well."

Such an incredible amount of hatred and bigotry shrugged off as 'Oh well'. :fp:

Norway is happy, commenters are not.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-39325206

How can they be happy, they are predominantly white people? They need multi-culturalism to be happy.

What is the level of Islamic migration to Norway?

Scotland is probably lowest on the list with a poison crankie moaning & crying all the time.

Norway is happy because it can fish our waters & not have most of the stupid EU rules

We are not allowed to smile in the UK – just in cace the ‘snowflakes’ think you are laughing at… ‘someone’.

Only joking (lefties), honest ha ha!

make their borders open to some more "refugees" and we'll see what we can do about their top position.

Enjoy it while it lasts! Islam is the largest non-Christian religion in Norway with about 2.4% of the population officially (about 121,000 people in 2013) and has increased by 30% since 2009

More fake news. The only truth is possibly Iceland, Switzerland and New Zealand. I will leave it to you to guess why the others are misinformation

Where is Paris in the list? Considering they're currently evacuating due to a credible bomb threat, it would be interesting to see where they rated 5 years ago compared to today

Did the poll any indigenous Norwegians, or just those from North Africa and the Middle East?

I'd love to live in Norway but I can't a fjord it

Google will take action on "hateful" content.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-39336974

I notice how this article doesn't tell us what this objectionable 'hateful' material actually is.

If it's ISIS-recruiting, Islamist extremism, fair enough.

The problem however is that the term 'hateful' has been redefined to include things such as denying the gender pay gap (there isn't one) or pointing out the inconvenient fact that Caitlyn Jenner is still a biological man.

I'd like to see Google ban the BBC'S hateful coverage of Brexit.

The whole issue of 'hate crime' (how can hating something or someone be a crime?) is nothing but censorship by the back door. The terms are so vague as to be meaningless. It's PC nonsense bought in by control freak left wing governments and supported by brainwashed graduates with no views of their own. The sad thing is that it has become the norm to be permnently offended on behalf of others.

Hateful content?

What is it really?

Religious extremism?

Or anyone who dares use facts to disagree with toxic far left whack jobs like the beeb and the safe space brigade?

I suspect only the latter will be attacked.

Here we go, more thought policing by the SJW PC brigade.

If you can't see where this is going here's a clue:

Don't think Islam means peace? Extremist. Banned. Don't love mass immigration? Extremist. Banned. Love your country? Extremist. Banned.

Basically anything that doesn't fit with the PC narrative will be removed.

All those guilty of wrongthink must be silenced!

socialists will never succeed in censorship of the internet unless they manage to create their dream world of a one party global state ie destroy all countries.

given the bl**dy nose we just gave the EU methinks the socialist world order has been knocked back a wee bitty

tough tt lefties!

u will never crush the desire for freedom and human spirit to reach & maintain it

What a surprise - Google finally act on this, when they get hit in the pocket. ISIS propaganda was fine when it earned you $ wasn't it?!

Google basically have to make a choice between corporate shekels and upholding the open nature of the platform they operate.

Father are afraid to ask for flexible working.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-39343754

Dads who want to be more involved in the care of their children fear that asking for more flexible hours might damage their careers.

I assume this refers to pink shirted office workers, because real men doing manual labour need to work full time to support the family in the first place.
Could you imagine a plasterer stopping halfway through a job, to pick the kids up from school.

Rubbish; although possibly if you refer to yourself as 'a dad', rather than the more grammatical and mature 'father', you are overidentifying with the role.

Most men do not wish to work part-time, and most wives do not wish their husbands to do so.

There is already talk of allowing women time off work due to periods - employers will soon be reduced to begging people to do the jobs they are being paid for.
As a recruiter, I never employ women of childbearing age, and many of my colleagues (some women) have the same (unofficial) policy. Illegal ? maybe, but easily circumvented by using a points based scoring system.

Like everything in life these days, it's always someone else's responsibility.
If the firm goes bust due to all the demands placed upon it, the father will then have plenty of time with the kids and can reflect upon the poverty he has brought upon himself and family. Good old fashioned breadwinner served families well for generations!

My boss is very understanding he lets me have time off to train my kids on playstation and I am on zero hours contract he does not have to worry about paying me. My partner is grafting at work to pay the bills we men need all women to work and we will stay at home with the kids and moan all day like the women did about being bored.

Do what we did in the 50/60s and go to work, let the mums mind the child.

Ha Ha ask for more time off, that only applies to females!

Care to comments screaming feminists ?

Do your jobs properly as its your choice to have children.
I blame the EU.

Holidays account for a quarter of unauthorised absences from schools in England.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-39380529

Sign of the time I'm afraid

Going on holiday is more important than your child's education

Parents all over the country doing their bit to ensure this country falls behind other nations in education

Torbay, Bournemouth, Poole, Cornwall and Devon are among the 10 areas with the highest percentage rise in holiday absence.

Fairly mundane areas, never going to produce high-achievers in any event. The libtwonks will argue they're poor achievers *because* of term time holidays, and the realists will argue that made no difference to these n'er-do-wells.

FACT

The tories wont do anything to resolve this...

they want a dumbed down population who they can scare into voting the way the Tories want them to

If some parents are thick enough to think more about saving a few £ than their kid's education then why should the rest of us be forced to pay for legal action against them?

I think we've all had enough of moaning-mini Tory parents complaining about holiday prices. Schools should simply increase the fines.

In any case, schooling should not be free. If people want to breed then they should pay a lot more in tax to compensate other hard workng tax payers.

The problem is these are not responsible parents. These are parents who decide their 1 week in the sun in Spain on the beach getting drunk is more important that their kids educations. And their kids education definitely isn't worth the extra couple of hundred quid that going during the school holidays would cost.

If you can't afford a holiday aboard out of term time then you clearly have a larger issue financially.

Simple solution, expel said child or children from said school, surely the parents can afford to pay for private education which can be more flexible for their holidays.

Can't really blame the teachers who are underpaid, schools being underfunded to education your little darlings for free.

392.Quinoa Sandwich
The laws of the country dictate that all children attend school during set term times. It is my belief that parents should respect that rule and plan accordingly; as well
as instill the discipline behind that thought process into their children.
...
Do you have them stand to attention at the breakfast table too???

That coloured map is very interesting. To me it looks like the north are far more likely to put their children's happiness first before their future careers, and London least likely.

Who'd have thought that eh.

so what socialists - you want to send us parents to a re-education camp in Siberia?

I have never understood why having a holiday in term time is such an evil, we did it as a kid and it was fine.

I'm probably going to take bug out of school a week for holidays as 1 week out of the year is hardly going to matter.

Personally i think it should be allowed for 1 week a year and the school provides some work for catching up.

It should be contingent on good performance. If your kid is thick as pig gooseberry fool then yeah, maybe he shouldn't go on holiday in term time. If he's bright then a week out's not going to be a problem, particularly in primary school where the bright kids are often literally years ahead of the thick kids in terms of numeracy and literacy.

All of this nonsense about fining parents just reinforces a toxic parents-vs-teachers dynamic that's going to do much more damage than letting Jenny in Year 4 go to Greece for 5 days.

SEE ME

Honestly, I don't think it should be allowed, but equally, it's also probably not worth the money it costs the education system chasing parents to administer these fines, especially that sanctimonious twat who took them all the way to court.

I just can't see a fair way of allowing it. Sure, it might sound justifiable if a child is doing well, and has otherwise excellent attendance, but by allowing that, you're penalising the parents of less bright kids. It's like the extra they have to pay for their holidays they can't take in term time is a tax for having a stupid child. And try explaining to the kids why it's fair for some of them to get to take time out of school, and others not. What kind of message does it send to them?

As for the schools having to provide work for students to catch up on, teachers are stretched enough as it is. Why should they have to go out of their way to provide additional work to a child who's been absent from their lessons for a fully avoidable reason?

I do t think Brightness should be the decider, if the kid is a banana split no, if they are good then it's cool. They should be up to expected standard sort of thing, but generally it should be behaviour based.
