Facebook hits back at former executive Chamath Palihapitiya.

Whoever implemented equality and multiculturalism is responsible for 'ripping society apart'. Both of those ideologies are based on setting people against one another as victim or villain on the basis of their demographic profile. Borders exist for a reason.

Sorry but there is one problem with your statement. The UK was never given any form of vote on joining the EUROPEAN UNION.What we actually had was a vote on joining and remaining in the EUROPEAN ECONOMIC COMMUNITY a very much different animal to the EU which Tony Blair and Gordon Brown signed us up for without any consultation.Unfortunately memories are short and facts fudged!

We already know how socially damaging these ant-social programmes are.

Meanwhile 600 daesh jihadis are about to be let back into Britain, as we can't make them stateless.

We need our own Alcatraz for this type of religious lunatic.

They will be freed after questioning and the 20,000 policeman that Mayhem sacked as Home secretary won't be following them.

Researchers in the UK have developed a method of improving the long range accuracy of summer weather in the UK and Europe.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-42403000

Ah good, another waste of taxpayer's money. No wonder we can't afford the NHS.

Today's forecast is rain with a chance of propaganda from the BBC propaganda machine.

I can't see it benefiting tourism if the system tells tourists when to stay away and those already here when to leave.

Another service that's a total waste of resources. As a rule of thumb we always watch the forecast and as they are usually the opposite to what occurs act accordingly. We usually get it right

"New approach promises early warnings of soggy summers"

Yawn.
I do hope it's not the same bunch of pseudo-scientific activist global warmers who promised us a "Mediterranean Climate" and "barbecue summers".

Why doesn't the BBC nail them down with a sensible bet about next summer. And not a bet which says "well, it might be a bit wetter, or dryer, but it might not be, maybe".

Good! A 'wet' summer = better than hard left or hard right.

I suppose an explanation is necessary for newbies: Moderate members of Mrs Thatcher’s cabinet were called “wets”. In those days, there was even a band called “Wet Wet Wet”. Today they're the equivalent of sane Tories who don’t want a hard (‘dry’?) Brexit and would probably prefer to Remain. So I hope for a soaking wet summer.

The Let's get this Party started 'spirit' is why the weather could be globally getting more intense?

If you Get rid of all the Old Nora's with hankerchiefed barnetts & switch them for Californicationers et al arising daily in Heckmondwyke to be disheartened by it being unlike Venice Beach outside the house then Bob's probably not your uncle but some dood in shorts & shades probably is?

Big words for someone who comments on bbc news articles expressing how much they don't get involved. If that were true they'd surely not comment because of how meaningful and personal their life is?

Football special.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42334221

Park the bus against a lower league club

Lose by one goal anyway

Mourinho masterclass

As a proud ABU I should be thrilled that manure lost to a non-league team, but I'm actually very annoyed. Bristol were celebrating that goal and the final whistle as if they just won the Champions League. It was embarrasing and pathetic. I am SICK of minnows viewing Manure as a giant killing - THEY ARE NOT. That is incredibly offensive to us genuine title contenders. Scew you BC, hope you go down.

Embarrassing scenes at the end of Bristol celebrating like they won the Cup. LOL

Especially embarrassing as the officials were dreadful and conned us out of the game.

Its almost like the FA are deliberately against us to ensure we lose to create media headlines like this one. Pathetic if you ask me

Mickey Mouse cup anyway

20 times 20 times 20 times, 20 times, enough said, all you supporters of inferior clubs must be so so jealous, keep dreaming on

Bristol City are only good for 2things and neither are football. A 3rd div club who can only attract 26k when Manyoo come to town.

Well there are enough 3rd div clubs with rich owners in the PL already so don't get any silly ideas.

they WERE lucky. had one meaningful effort in 92 minutes, utd hit the post twice, the goalie made several top saves (also utd, rash in particular, wasted several opportunities) and then scored with the last kick. they worked harder though and so for that they deserve huge credit, but its a bit of a stretch to say they deserved to win. as jose says great for football and best of luck in the semis!

I dont know what Bristol City fans are getting lively for the god damn Reindeer Cup, ive never heard so much garbage in all my life. Who got antlers on their wall google what the Vikings used to use reindeer urine for word up...

Mourinho: 'They were a bit lucky'?????? Is he for real? They deserved it you arrogant man

Pogba £ 89 Mill
Lukaku £75 M
Martial £36 M
Mkhit £30 M
Herrara £30 M
Lindelhof £30 M
Rojo £16 M
Blind £14 M
Darmian £13 M
Mata on the bench £31 M

We are the great Man United we don't buy the title.
We are the great Man United we play reserves in the League cup.
We are the great Man United are reserves were bought for £350 Million.

A pair of Bristol’s as Man U go t*ts up.

Brilliant stuff. Bet the city of Bristol was buzzing last night, with high sixes all round.

Sticking with sport, Birmingham will host the Commonwealth Games in 2022.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/commonwealth-games/42437441

Wonder how many asylum seekers we will get this time - of course the BBC did not report this

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ ... games.html

Large parts of Birmingham and the West Midlands are now unrecogisable as Britain.

This is nothing but bread and circuses to keep the peasants entertained while their country is stolen from beneath their very own feet.

I feel sorry for the Commonwealth athletes. Not really fair that we are making them go to the dump that is Birmingham.

Birmingham is a second rate city and is rightly hosting a second rate games.

Probably the worst city in the uk after Belfast, Liverpool and Glasgow. Should have gone too a nice city like Stirling, Aberdeen or Cardiff

How many people did Britain murder how many people is still being murdered today by stealing everything they can while people have no food. If the UN had any purpose Britain should be sanctioned to they neck. So please tell what is the purpose of the commonwealth game's.

11. JJK
"I find it a bit mental that we still have the, previously known as, British Empire and Commonwealth Games. This is a throwback to darker times and seems out of date in the society we live in today.
Anyone else think the same?"

You don't understand what the purpose of the commonwealth is (try wikipedia) and secondly the British Empire was a glorious time in this nations history.

And just how much will all the security cost? No HYS on the Melbourne attack on Christmas shoppers.

Nothing to see in Melbourne, move along please and no mention of the drivers background.... BBC News filtering out their pet causes...

Surely no one will want to come as Britain will be out of the EU by then.

Or could it be an opportunity to rebuild relations with parts of the world we abandoned when we joined the EEC?

Each of us streamed 1,036 songs last year.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-42541440

I never streamed 1.

Stop making stuff up

Each of us streamed 1,036 songs last year???????????????

BBC at its best, I never stream music, there are Thousands that don't. So how can you make a false claim like this

Our education System the BBC are getting worse, is 1 a person writes this kind of rubbish, 2 the Editor allowing it to be published

This is a classic example of the "we all" syndrome where the BBC tars us all with the same brush and putting their faults and traits on the rest of us.
I've never streamed a song or anything else so don't put your habits on to me BBC (Biased Broadcasting Company).

I wouldn't know how to stream mustic in the first place and wouldn't want to as what passes for music these days is mostly not to my taste. So please take me out of your statistics. Thank you.

"Each of us" etc etc

Why do the BBC insist on these misleading headlines?

Ok so 68Bn songs were live streamed

We know millions don't do any of this so why such generalised headlines?

Why not just keep to the facts that more songs were live streamed?

Why the need for the "each of us" which we know is BS?

BBC getting more like a rag top every day

Dear BBC news editor, this story is not worthy of coverage considering the more important isuess in the world!!
I didn’t stream any songs so someone else has used up my quota!! Therefore your statement that it ‘equates to’ is false!!
No wonder people like Trump, Farage use the term fake news.
Time to run stories that are factual and not hypothetical

Someone out there must have streamed 2072, because I didn't stream any last year. Happy New Year.

Who is this 'We'

I never streamed any.

Try being a Journalist instead of Fake News

You wonder what else the BBC exaggerates / distorts with sweeping generalisations like this.

Makes you wonder.

I didn't. I've never knowingly heard Ed Sheeran or any of the other "artists" on the list either, thank goodness.

WE streamed 1,036 songs last year.

WE love Ed Sheeran.

WE hate Brexit.

WE love immigrants.

WE always 'believe the victim'.

It doesn't work any more, does it BBC?

1000 tunes = 35 hours or wasting a whole day listening to noise in working time a whole week (or 2% extra on GDP output) - no wonder UK productivity has slumped.

Take out your ear buds and do some work!

I wonder if this streaming statistic is the result of a music industry conspiracy running 'bots' to up the statistics to promote their artists and/or Putin's/Trump's misinformation/Fake News Mafia running riot - with the specific aim to destroy UK productivity even further and spread a tissue of lies like brexit!

Schools should play a bigger role in preparing children for social media's emotional demands as they move from primary to secondary school, England's children's commissioner says.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-42563173

maybe school should leave social media to the unemployed fraternity and instead concentrate on maths English and science and actually teaching helpful stuff - maybe if they did that less kids would grow up thick and stabbing each other

Sigh not this rubbish again. Children are not precious things to be protected from the real world. The sooner they experience reality the better.

Can’t have it both ways. SM (that’s social media not sadomasochism) is training for a future governed by IT. If you don’t have the skills you won’t get the job. FaceBook is a skill despite what many people think of it.

s£x education at school is way to explicit . seems we want children not to have a innocent childhood.
Some things dont need to be known at 10 years of age and i find it disgusting what is taught.
My parents didnt have such lessons and they managed just fine.Social media and pressure from it is going to cause a increase in suicide in the years to come. lot wrong with society today.

Here we go again... Being a child in modern-day Britain is obviously the worst possible situation anyone could find themselves in. Those people who lived through the Blitz etc should just stop going on about it and count their blessings.

@ 657. dadman
No politician is prepared to point a finger at parents and tell them to do the job!
So who is expected to?
Teachers/ schools?
=======

You can blame that fair and squarely on "The State".

It has become the owner of all its peoples.

This one MUST get a Birth Certificate for a child, that is given a number and citizenship. In effect children do not "belong" to parents.

Grace definitely wins the blaxploitation hairstyle award of the day.

She could be cast in a Shaft remake no problem.

.. all picture of females in this story ??

Would still like to see some Males/men/boys in the above article.

The majority of secondary school teachers are MEN.

HALF the school population are MALES.......

It disturbs me that the Photos/Interviews are of women and girls as if young boys and men don't use social media at all?......

if that is offensive I would love someone to explain why?........

wheres the 'balance' BBC?

Teachers really should teach our youngsters to ride a bike whilst on social media, drinking Irn bru and to avoid caffeinated drinks whilst letting them know it is perfectly OK to pay the licence tax without any form of protest whatsoever, cos the beeb are really cuddly and have their best interest at heart. As long as they vote labour and despise Brexit, Mr Trump and watch beeb childrens tv.

YOU the media told us all that we shouldn't let our kids out to play because they would get abducted & murdered. Stop blaming us parents, you are mostly to blame for this & you are still trying to brainwash the public now.
The BBC is a disgrace!

So, according to the photographs in this article, it seems only coloured children suffer from too much social media use?

Get a grip BBC and start being a little more balanced with your reporting. This article is out and out racist.

Wales proposes to ban smacking children.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-42608193

The children that I know raised by liberals who never tell them off run riot and are not pleasant to be around. Discipline in a measured controlled way seems to be a sensible solution and parents know better than the State, with the State being there to prevent abuse.

It has always been illegal to assault children so this just gives them something else to threaten their parents with

it will probably be unenforceable anyway

Generation snowflake strikes again

Smacking the backside isn't about beating your kids up, its a about teaching them right from wrong. It gives them a bit of fear, but they won't do what they were doing wrong again.

An initiative obviously invented by a left liberal luvvie who are responsible for the lack of discipline and respect from kids.

I was smacked as a child, hell, I even got a few punches as I was growing up from my old man (when deserved).

Did me good,I also understand the concept of boundaries and respect.

It's pathetic that people would prefer their kids too be such spoiled little swines because they themselves are weak in the head and don't "get" parenting.

And yes, I know my POV is not popular. I do not care.

Ban it or don't ban it - when the day comes that I have children, they will learn right and wrong and how to be a respectable adult by my hand as the parent, whether that be through a smack or some other appropriate punishment. It won't stop me.

Kids will take the biscuit if you let them. Look at how school kids run riot because they know teachers are powerless. This idea is an absurdity.

Over the years we have seen corporal punishment banned in schools and as a consequence, children of all ages lose all respect for their teachers and other adults, and the teachers lose control of the classrooms. This is just another step forward to producing a society that does not understand the meaning of doing wrong. "Spare the rod, spoil the child" is truer now than it as ever been.

Surely the Liberal/Left nanny state knows best.

People should not have opinions nor responsibility, they must do as they're told, in all aspects of their life. They must be good citizens, as defined by the Liberal/Left.

There is no room for independent thought. You will be shouted down and labelled with a newly invented Liberal/Left naughty word if you do.

Look at nature, how does every single primate on earth discipline its young. With a smack. Look at 90% of mammals how do they discipline their young, with a bite.

Psychological torture of the naughty step is not natural. That why we now have a bunch of 20 somethings who get PTSD from failing an exam.

I predict a big rise in the number of Welsh children who are taken into care because they've become uncontollable and violent, and can't be physically disciplined. Leaving their parents with little option but to ask social services to deal with the problem cause they're no longer willing to live under threat.

So if we're in Wales, and my two-year-old laughs "smack my bottom!" when I'm behind her on the stairs, I'll have to tell her no, or face criminal intervention?

The abuse they should be concerned about is the mum's latest boyfriend, who gets her teenage daughter as a "bonus".

Its nanny state time again. I know who I like to smack now & that these clowns in the WA. Who are there to tell us that we cannot smack our kids. And when I say smack I don't mean canning or beating of such. Why can't the WA spend they time & our money on improving our education & NHS that what I long to see done. What after no smacking no more prisons is that the next thing to ban?
