I'm looking forward to Wild Run. It's worth noting that the graphical overhaul will be a free upgrade for all owners, whilst the new race setups are available via the expansion pack. I wonder how much it's gonna cost? I haven't seen any indication yet.

Just bought this in the PSN sale. Really impressed with the huge scale of it. Just driven to the summit for some events. Looks like this will be another huge timesink game

Blimey, blast from the past. Did this do any good when it was released then, i did hear there were some fans of this.

The latest expansion, Calling All Units, launches today.

If you buy the expansion from the PS Store (£19.99) it includes the previous expansion (Wild Run). I assume this applies for the XBO and PC versions in their respective stores, too. I've not played the game in a year but I'm excited about giving it a go later!

I'm in two minds about The Crew; on the one hand the size of the open map is amazing but for me the cars never handled quite right, the main story was Fast and Furious-tier nonsense and running from the cops in racing games (except NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 because they were finite races rather than "run away until you escape") is always a fun-vacuum for me. Wild Run helped with its festival atmosphere but I quickly stopped playing then too. This looks better but I probably won't bother.

Ubisoft has delisted The Crew and the servers will be turned off from April.

Yeah, it's nine years old now, but... why can't it still remain playable in an offline mode? I so dislike where gaming seems to be going with games being turned off and gotten rid of. I shan't now be buying The Crew Motorfest, even in a sale. Rebellion! Therearedozensofus.jpg etc.

It's so frustrating. Yeah, it is pretty much "the way things are going now"... but we need (the bigger) gaming websites to put pressure on publishers that this is not acceptable. There must be a way that Ubisoft could update the game so that it remains playable on a local, offline basis. Rather than just taking this BS, we need gaming sites to help drive better outcomes for gaming consumers.

Unfortunately the raw numbers will probably always win out; it's most likely not still selling in anything like the numbers to justify further work on this kind of thing, if it's even possible.

A bit like the previous Forza games getting delisted after a few years, the car marque/music licensing element is probably the bigger limiting factor - that's not going to change.
