Is that you? :o

EDIT: if it is, I enjoyed the part where you described the game as "flaccid".

It is :D and the game is so weak.

IDGI. Are you actually a real person?

Nice one, my uplay name's trellero.

I buckled and got the season pass today too :fp: I really don't get what the problem with this is, graphically it looks fine, runs well and there is a definite difference between the cars in terms of weight and handling. The 370z is fairly oversteery while the Dodge truck is a hefty behemoth of a thing.

Good job I played the beta and told my mrs how shite it was as she apparently had it on preorder for me :dread:

Just did the mission where you have to take down the prison bus - talk about strawberry floating artificial difficulty, holy gooseberry fool.

Well damn this game. It's surprising. It's heartwarming. It's, at times, stunning. It's has a lot of character. Just like a Top Gear road trip, it's made me fall in love with my Nissan 370Z. It's memorable. It's just plain nice.

There's no one part that's stand-out special but some of the trips from point A to point B are really, really pleasurable. This game has some of the best real estate in the business. The roads through the Mountain State are gobsmacking and at the right time of day, driving my 370Z through icons of the US canyons with the chill radio station on feels amazing, even emotive.

The story just facilitates the expansive American landscape. The handling model is, in my opinion, way better than Need for Speed. This feels tighter, more realistic in style. It suit the game just fine.

Detroit isn't the most exciting starting point. You head on to New York which has the same 'vibe'. You next go to The South, through to Miami, which has better road variety...and then on to the Mountain States. That's where the game really, really shines through.

Having playing the game it's not representative. This game has many, many faults I could go through but, at the end of the day, the old Test Drive team has done good with this one.

Not only that I bet it's UBISoft's best release this year.

I've finished the story and hit max level, you can just rake in the cash by sending friends on the faction missions for you, facebook style. Takes a few hours and you get less money, but you don't have to do them yourself. I'm raking in 160,000 every 3 hours and am gradually getting every car one at a time.

As for the cars dirt and raid spec are by far the most fun, I play this essentially as an open world rally game more than any 2fast2edgy street racing shenanigans. It's a shame that it seems impossible to get any multiplayer races through matchmaking, i was waiting for half an hour the other day and not a single person joined the lobby. Doesn't help that i've seen this in GAME for half price already, only a couple of weeks after launch.

Amazon has reduced the price to £24.99 on PS4 and Xbox One. Click here to drive cross-country.

I am officially not buying any game at release any more. Any game I choose is halved in price within two weeks.

Top Tip: I like the sound of Evolve (due out 10 Feb), so hang-on until 28 Feb and it'll be around £24.

Yep - it really is becoming quite annoying. You just start to feel dirty for being an early adopter. How many times have I been mugged for full-price new releases this year? Too many times. :|

Early adopters get shafted regularly in this business. Is it fair to say it happens more in gaming than any other pastime / hobby / entertainment medium?

Had £70 credit at Amazon so got a PS4 copy. Probably get at least £15 back trading it to them after a few weeks playing it, so might as well. I like how Cooldawn described it, some reviews have been favourable, and I'm going to put my bad Beta experience down to being at the start of the game and using a car with gooseberry fool stats. Hopefully.
If not, it can go straight back to Amazon for £23.40.

Early adopters also have fat stacks, a garage full of sweet rides with platinum parts tho.

Just to let you know I use a Full Stock for great highway jaunts from A to B. I use tuned cars exclusively for events. Running from A to B in a bog-standard stock 370Z is the way it's mean't to be. That's how I got to love my 370Z.

To be honest, I couldn't care less about the tuned versions.

Just stick with it for a bit...

Anyone able to get a free UBISoft game...if you haven't got this, it's worth considering.

The getaway mission in the sunrise snowy mountains  And then the 24 mile jaunt in my Full Stock 370Z

The thing I like most about this is the handling isn't dumbed down. They've got it just right. Spot-on. In that 24 mile jaunt I was performing legitimate Scandinavian flicks using the weight and rear wheel drive power from the car. And the snowy mountainous scenery is just incredible...the sense of atmosphere...this game has bags of character. The whole freedrive was an experience in itself. Magical.

Oh man...this game is sublime at times, mesmerising even. I swear this game is the biggest surprise I've ever had. I didn't expect much...I bought it for a fuck-about but it's become a smash hit for me. It's a keeper.

Man, to me dirt and raid are where it's at. I play the crew as an open world rally game more than anything else.

Yeah...some of the Dirt events, especially later in the game, have been stunning drives.

A good make-shift rally game for sure.

Whilst GRcade was down I decided it'd be a good opportunity to play The Crew as I'd barely touched it.

No chance. The PS4 version seems to be experiencing some sort of connection / save corruption bug and I can't even start the game. Ubi are investigating and the problem seems to be reasonably wide spread. Online-only gaming :fp:.

I still can't login to The Crew on PS4.... it's so frustrating. There can't be many industries where it's acceptable, perhaps even normal, for a customer to pay £45 for something and then get such poor service. I guess it's going to continue until people like me stop handing over money to such publishers.

This afternoon, Ubisoft posted in The Crew support forum that the PS4 logon problem had been resolved and that they'd awarded some free in-game credits (ugh - that's a whole other gaming problem) to those people who had been affected.

They've since been deluged with people (like me) who still can't run the the game. At least Ubi's Assassin's Creed Unity could be played despite being bugged... The Crew can't even be started.
