Former Daily Show Correspondent Signs Up to Host Comedy Series

TBS is giving longtime Daily Show correspondent Samantha Bee her own show. Hot on the heels of announcing a new scripted comedy series created and executive produced by Bee and her husband, Jason Jones, TBS is cementing its relationship with the prolific couple even further. The new show, which is in the early stages of development, is being planned as a platform for Bee to apply her smart and satirical point of view to current and relevant issues. In addition to hosting, Bee will serve as executive producer on the show, along with Jones. The series is being produced by TBS.

With everyone leaving, is the Daily Show even going to continue?

Almost certainly, even if comedy central lose most of the viewers the drastic decrease in the salaries with JS gone will justify keeping it going

Bassem Youssef? He's joined the Harvard Institute of Politics at the John F Kennedy School of Government as a resident fellow for the spring semester.

Fascinating guest on last night's show. Twitter can breed appalling people.

The full video is even better than the clips the Daily Show aired.

I like Trevor so this is good news.

Odd that the two biggest satirical shows in America will be hosted by non-Americans.

I really like him too and welcome this news. Not a slight on him, but the guy he replaced, who was at TDS for a short while before moving on, I think would have been equally capable.

He's only been on the show 3 times so difficult to make a judgement, have to see how he gets on.

It's strange that someone I primarily know from 8 out of 10 Cats will be hosting The Daily Show by the end of the year.

I can only remember him being on twice one of which garnered a nearly silent audience reaction. It was awkward to watch.
