Anyone else notice how Trevor keeps pronouncing women (plural) as woman (singular)? Surely someone has told him.

Anyway, I like how they've removed the ridiculous filter and can now say the word gooseberry fool without a bleep.

[edit] Bleeped again in the second episode. :fp:

I thought he was much better in the second episode, particularly during the interview. He seemed more confident and relaxed, almost flirting even.

Very flirty! I think the women/woman thing is due to his accent. He should work on it though

Watched all last week's episodes.

He's good he needs to put more of himself into it though it seems. Comes across like he's just a professional news reader, reading a comedy script. Stewart was so good because he put so much of himself into the show, you knew what his views were, what his type of comedy was and how he felt about certain issues.

Obviously early days but I feel like if Noah is going to be successful he's going to have to do the same. He doesn't need to be a Stewart clone but he does need to be more than just a blank face in front of the camera.

I'm loving his interviews, he seems really natural at it. The Seth Rogen one was great.

Also, holy gooseberry fool, Hasan minhaj's segment about the automated news bot was amazing

I like Trevor as well, he has started well and I think he will get stronger as he settles down and the show becomes more "his".

I like the other new guy, Roy Wood Jr. The whole "Justice or else!" segment was brilliant.

The Roy Wood Jr segment on the anniversary of the million man march was amazing, he's the new Jason Jones.

In fact the correspondent pieces which I always used to skip have become a lot better recently, even Jessica Williams has become tolerable.

Noah's been on fire this week. Seems to have completely settled in. He's even laughing less at his own jokes.

Jon Stewart Inks Four-Year Deal With HBO, Will Focus On Digital Content First

The farm life didn’t last long. After a short break, former Daily Show host/executive producer Jon Stewart is returning to television with an exclusive four-year production pact at HBO. Unlike the pact fellow Daily Show alum John Oliver signed with the pay cable network, Stewart’s agreement does not call for him to launch a TV show, at least not immediately.

It will start with short-form digital content, which will be showcased on HBO NOW, HBO GO and other platforms, but includes a first-look option for other film and TV ventures.

In his first project for HBO under the new deal, Stewart will work with the cloud graphics company OTOY Inc. to develop new technology that will allow him to produce timely, current-events-focused short-form digital content, which will be refreshed on HBO NOW multiple times throughout the day.

“Jon Stewart led a revolution that changed the face of TV comedy on the Daily Show,” said Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. “He graced our network nearly 20 years ago, so we’re thrilled to welcome back his immense talents in this next chapter of his career.”

HBO now has three top late-night hosts on his roster, with Stewart joining Oliver and Bill Maher. Stewart hinted that he may not be ready yet to return to the grind of mounting a full-length TV show on a regular basis.

“I’m so excited to be working with Richard [Plepler], Michael and the entire HBO family,” he said. “Appearing on television 22 minutes a night clearly broke me. I’m pretty sure I can produce a few minutes of content every now and again.”

Aw, pity they didn't get someone to fill in for him. Probably too short notice.

Roy Wood Jr presenting would be an amazing thing.

The Hassan Minaj piece this week was strawberry floating crazy, redrawing voting boundaries so there are no voters so you can levy a tax, one third of which goes into your pocket is straight up diabolical. I don't understand how there are systems in place that allow someone to do that.

I know I should have been outraged by the way they redrew the boundaries to screw people over, but I was most offended by the incompetence of them going to all that effort and then forgetting that one person lived there. If you are going to be corrupt, at least do it properly!
